Holiday wish list
Nov. 25th, 2007 04:41 pmit's that time of year again
Step One
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special
Things I want - well, I'm pretty easy. I'd love a story/ficlet/drabble/icon whatever in the fandoms I like. Currently I guess that would be BtVS/AtS, Star Trek, X-Files, Heroes, Fullmetal Alchemist, Saiyuki (and gaiden), Chrono Crusade, D.Gray-man, Fruits Basket. I figure if you know me, you already know who i like.
and I don't normal ask the flist for material things and I'm not now. If someone who usually does get me something is dying for what to get here's this wishlist
I don't THINK this will take you into the list directly (and emailing it hasn't worked) so I've temporarily changed my password there for the next few weeks username - DocDana1993 (yes its case sensitive) pass- Roythecat and unhelpfully this means you'd have to log out to buy something under your own name. sorry but like i said, I'd rather have fiction and art

Date: 2007-11-25 10:32 pm (UTC)If you ever find a Goku plushie, tell me. I want one so bad, and I'm not even sure they make them. But dammit, a Goku plushie would be so cool.

Giles knew there was something amiss. He could almost sense it in the air. He knew it even before the taxi rounded the last corner into his apartment complex and everything seemed just a little too bright. When he reached the walkway it was confirmed. Giles took a minute to think, but no, he was fairly certain he had not decorated his bushes before he left for England. Certainly not in bright, multicolored strands that spanned the garden and perhaps had kept the neighbors up at night. He fingered one of the strands near the door on his way in. He had no doubt who was responsible and it was definitely not the neighborhood association. He shouldn’t complain though. Teenagers were far better known for egging homes than decorating them.
Giles pulled out his key, figuring he’d be in a better frame of mind to appreciate the handiwork when he wasn’t jet lagged. He pushed open the door and got far enough inside to drop his valise before he realized that there was something large and tree-shaped in his living room. He took a few wary steps forward and then the thing burst to life, startling him.
It was his artificial tree, but surrounding it, floating in the air, were beautiful golden spheres of light. As Giles watched they began a slow, lazy dance around the tree. The effect was, well, magical. It was a beautiful combination of a ‘dancing lights spell’ with a ‘proximity detection spell’ to set it off. Willow’s magical abilities were growing with each passing day.
He took a few steps closer and admired the fact that the lights on the tree itself were carefully nestled deep into the boughs, giving the whole tree an inner light. Xander, if he had to guess.
Giles stood there, admiring the display, his jet lag crankiness forgotten. It was truly beautiful – taking his breath away. Then he noticed a plate of homemade cookies, a tin of Christmas spice tea, and a card. Most certainly Buffy’s handiwork.
Giles left his bags at the foot of the stairs, hung up his jacket and put on the kettle. It wasn’t long before the water was ready and Giles steeped his tea. Then he sat in his chair in front of the tree, enjoying the tasty cookies. After a few moments of precious peace and quiet, he picked up the card.
Dear Giles,
We missed you over the holidays. Hope you had a great time in England, even though it was probably cold and rainy and dreary. We decided you might need some colorful Southern California holiday cheer when you got back.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Buffy, Willow, and Xander
He set the card down again filled with warmth that they would go to such lengths to wish him a Merry Christmas. He finished his tea and cookies, and then decided that he would try to get a little sleep in front of the tree while the golden spheres continued their dance.
But before he fell asleep Giles made a mental note that his first post-holiday order of business, after thanking them, would be to find out which of his beloved little hoodlums had a duplicate of his key.
