it's that damn cold today. Yay. I love the cold. It never got above 10 degrees (-12 for the non-Americans). Love it. It was bright and sunny so I dragged 100 miles north to Trader Joes and the Asian Supermarket (that's its name) Apparently EVERYONE was in the mood for Asian today. I needed to learn how to say, 'sorry, if i'm standing in your way like a lump, move me,' in Chinese. I did come away with red bean buns, lotus buns, custard buns, chestnut mochi, green tea mochi and wagashi...yeah health food. Rolls eyes. They had natto which looks as disgusting in person as it did in pictures but sadly they had no pocky this time. bah.

Went across the street to Trader Joe's. Okay flist, if you hear me mumbling about going to Columbus slap me hard. You see me making for Trader Joe's knee cap me. Tell me why I bought green tea ice cream balls? I don't even like ice cream much. Now the double cream brie and the chedder with fig and orange sounded too good to pass up. Marinkopita (mushroom pie) fell into the buggy bringing veggie shu mai with it. There was more stuff (proscuitto looking at you) too.

Spend my whole Christmas gift card allotment in Borders buying manga (naturally) then went for lunch...I'm now convinced ALL OH chinese buffets have the exact same bland-ass supplier. Blech.

Then it was off to the mall to get more books and look for black shoes. It was next to impossible to find any black tie ups or even black flats. Finally found one pair for more than I wanted to pay at Nautralizer but they fit me. I mean not EVERYONE has wide feet shoemakers. Don't care how many wides you have, don't need signs for that. Tell me how many NARROWS do you carry. None. I did manage to fit the Nautralizer so I bought them and on the way home I realized why they looked so familiar. They're Speed Racer loafers. I had a pair I wore to death in the 70's just like them and yes I wore then because Speed had them (give me a break look at my anime choses back then, Speed or Gatchaman and even then I knew it was stupid to dress up like a BIRD)

Went out for Greek for dinner...way overpriced so we won't be repeating that. But it was a good evening all around...until the Packers just LOST. Gah, hate the Giants.

But...I like going to Trader Joe's in Columbus...

It took me a while to find a pretty decent Chinese restaurant when I moved back to Ohio from Washington DC, until it occurred to me that having so many Asians in the classes I taught might mean I should ask where there was a good one. And oddly enough they all said the same place, which is on Bethel Road, off 315, in the same center as Micro Center, called Hometown Oriental. It has both a restaurant and deli, even though it's small.

What about G-Force?

I suppose it is a good thing that I don't have a Trader Joe's near me. Everyone raves about them but I have enough places clamoring for my $$.

I'm glad that you had a good day. :-)

G-Force's real name is Gatchaman

To be honest Trader Joe's IS gourmet but inexpensive comparitively speaking

All I remember is that they flapped about in neat planes. But I thought the spandex costumes were flamingly gay. Men should NOT wear high heels and spandex. *Shakes head*

I like going there too and that IS the problem.

I'll have to see if I can find that one. I know where you're talking

I liked football best. Basketball was okay. I DIDNT like sports where balls whizzed at me and I needed a stick to hit them

It's in the little cluster of shops that's across the parking lot from Micro Center.

Yikes, I just noticed that my spellchecker gave me 'pallet' as a correction for my misspelled 'palate' (and, yes, I approved it *sigh*) - so whoopsy daisy and let's all just forget that ever happened, umkay?

I have some plain flavored pockey I'd gladly share with you. (The strawberry was out!) As much as I love Chinese I refuse to go to the buffets. It's just plain scary. Greek for dinner? I'm jealous!

When Borders has a sale it's hard to pass up. I was ticked off yesterday that they didn't have ANY of the volumes I was looking for.
