I finally got a new chapter of Hyperion's Son done. Things go quickly from bad to worse.

Pairing - Buffy/Angel, Gunn/Fred and probably a few others as we roll on

Summary - Ten years after Angel gave up his son, Angel Investigations has a strange new case, one of the young new Slayers training with Buffy in LA has turned up dead just like a half dozen or so street kids leading Angel, Buffy and their friends into a very dark world of hopelessness to find the evil is after one of their own.

Yes I can. Just watch me. :-). ANd it may be for a while (ducking thrown things). Ch 14 is only half written. once school settles and I either a) get the hang of teaching b) go insane, I'll get right back to writing this since MOST of my ficathons are done.

cool. I'm glad that worked for you. As one of my beta's pointed out this was the most violent way I've done the memory thing but this story demanded that.

I couldn't picture it happening any other way. No way he would have taken it calmly like he did on the show. The character itself is extreamly different and even more broken then he was before. Add that to all the years as a heavy drug user and every bad thing that goes with it and also the knowledge that the mindrape was in a way what pushed him in the first place and you get a very angry Connor.

Exactly. I've had it more calmly (for me, the show was a tad too calm, heck the way still mind wiped Connor and his family handled demons was a bit too unbelievably calm and accepting) but yeah, this is one p.o.'ed man. Later, he will blame himself as much as his father but right now he's confused, hurt, sick and on a tear.

Let's just say that the end of the chapter where he's going to his pimp to hurt himself will play a big role in ch 14 and people effected by the spell not currently in the story will show.

Just read it and it was a doozy. The squick of Connor propositioning Angel followed by violence to Lilah followed by prest-chango-no-more-mindwipe makes for a fantastic chapter. You are great with the action, Dana.

Thanks. Yeah the proposition scene is kinda hard to look at which of course it's meant to be. And the violence...you know eventually I need to decide what the heck happens with Lilah and W&H...

Finally, time to review.

Great chapter, well worth waiting for. My heart broke for Angel, not only hearing the details of Connor's prostitution, but Connor assuming that's what Angel was interested in. I'm not surprised that Angel went nuts and seriously consdiered brutalizing Lilah.

I didn't realize what Angel had said any more than Angel did, that was exceptionally well done, since too often the audience is ahead of the protaganist.

I didn't think Cordelia was exactly childlike in this chapetr. She just reminded me of the Sunnydale version, before she learned compassion.

I'm really enjoying the B/A relationship here. I liked how both of them held back so as not to hurt the other one and I especially liked how Buffy has been trying her best to help Angel through this ordeal.

The fact that the next chapter will likely be a while is going to kill me.

Yeah Cordy is pretty much H.S. Cordy. There are more childish times with her too (not so much this time) that tend to color Angel's perception of her. She can be downright cruel at times like here.

Glad the B/A aspects are still working. There's gonna be some strain on them as we roll on.

The whole scene with Connor propositioning ANgel was one of the first scenes to mind when I came up with this idea and it seems to be an enormous hit in that it hit everyone hard.

Yeah I'm averaging a ch. ever two months. I so suck.
