Out of the Blue
Sep. 4th, 2004 02:32 amA story forms in my head and bleds all over the page and within the hour its fully formed (and short, go figure). 80's retro weekend was the impetus for it, specifically Mike & the Mechanic's In the Living years. The song struck me as being very fitting for Connor and Angel.
Connor started screaming until I wrote it (after three days of being exhausted, tonight I'm so keyed up I can't even lie down. A half pitcher of beer didn't change that but maybe this alcohol fuel writing rampage (also finished another scene in the script) isn't anywhere near as good as I think it could be once the polish goes on).
So now The Common Good of Life has a prequel. You remember this story, my first full on Post-NFA story that dives into B/A closeness. Well, this is what happens before that. Now I just need a volunteer for a beta (see, now do you understand what
evil_little_dog had to put up with, pages upon pages waiting for her every morning?)
On unrelated notes, I did in fact splurge and had pizza and beer and frozen custard tonight. It was quite fun. I love that bar (and Culvers for the custard, the home of the butter burger). I also have officially tamed the goldfish in the pool. They nibble my fingers. I'm naming the boldest of the school.
And last night I went with Zog to the glue crew's model enthusiast's meeting. You know what, it makes you feel a little deficient when you're the ONLY woman there and two dozen men can barely be pulled away from talking about plastic cars long enough to say hi to you. Sheesh. Thank god for Mike's Hard Lemonade, at least I could drink, write in yet another bar, and nurse my wounded ego
