Went to get my laundry out of the dryer this morning (since I forgot last night) to find a huge puddle and water running down the walls. The freaking steam heat pipe broke. So not only do I have a pond in the basement I have no heat. It's friday. That means I'll have no heat for days. Luckily it's only supposed to go down to the 50's tonight.

Got my date for Leni's B/A marathon. If you want to read a bunch of good B/A fic in Nov to celebrate IWRY head there. I'm already started onmy fic since Angel was griping.

Spent ALL day taking that pool of questions from last night's barfest to make up the test today. I knew making tests weren't easy but I had NO idea it was this hard. It's still not done but almost.

Forgot to mention last night the questions from the boss about a) do I really want to teach b) do I really want to do it here and the truth is, it's a little early for me to tell. I don't have much choice in the teaching arena thanks to the injury but here is the question. They hope to have me teaching more next semester (okay, that'll be good) but here is so far away from things Ilike to do, art galleries, theatre, ballet etc that I'm not sure I'd want to stay for years. Sigh.

Maybe just stay long enough to build up credentials? A year or two, say and then (hopefully) it would be easier to get a job elsewhere.

That's what I'm thinking but it's hard to tell the boss that when he's questioning you. But seriously, while i love living in rural areas, I DO like to have a city within an hour's drive so I can do city things I like

I'd send you some heat from Long Island.. but there's not that much to go around. :P

Good luck with the ficathon. I can't write B/A to save my life, but I'll enjoy reading some of the work the other writers (and you) complete.

I hope you figure out what you want to do. Where to live and what to do for a living are two of the hardest questions to face in life. I'm battling with them too at the moment.

Thanks a little weather magic might be good.

Well what I really want to do is write but I'm very realistic about that. Teachings good. I think once I settle down I'll like it but I'm not so sure about where I'm living

A *lot* of people have been having leaks and flooding lately. Not sure what's up with that.

When my mom was visiting in July, my toilet sprung a leak. I put a cereal bowl under it, and soon had a 3-gallon tub under it. I was talking about who I should call to come fix it. It just happened out of nowhere, it seemed. Then my mom went home and the leak went away as mysteriously as it disappeared.

Okay that's very peculiar! I've never seen them spontaneously stop leaking. Now the tub doesn't want to drain... last time my toilet leaked it was labor day 1997 and it was a two story townhouse and toilet water AND my entire ceiling was all over my kitchen and the slum lords didn't want to fix it.

I strongly suspect Mom somehow aggravated a leak that's already there due to her size and the way she had to *plop* down on the toilet seat that was too low for her. Which means the leak is there, but I don't have to get it fixed until it makes itself a nuisance.

Knock on wood.

Ah yes, I know that one well. I have a bad habit of flinging myself down and have broken things. It's easier that way than stressing out my shot knees but I'm not the feather weight I used to be
