say a little prayer for me. Snow has turned to ice...for five hours now, it's been ice storming. So far I obviously have power...um let's just say that could change. I'm totally hosed if it does. I live down in the hollow. I can't get out of here to go to a hotel should my power go out. I have electric everything. It goes out we'll be mighty cold and hungry here. last ice storm of any magnitude the power outage lasted well over a week...

Frick and Frack keep wanting to go out. I let them then go check on them a few minutes later when they come skittering back. ding dongs

Good luck! Sounds like where I lived in my early twenties- thirty miles from anything, power went out at the drop of a hat, and we had electric heat and a well that had an electric pump, so we had no water, heat, nothing, and a house with about a minus 13 insulation factor in two of the coldest winters and the most snows on record here in this part of the south. It's kind of a scary feeling, especially if you live somewhere that does not normally get a lot of snow. And people around here don't know how to drive in it either. I hope everything goes ok, going to a hotel really might be for the best if it gets too bad -- try to find one with WiFi and free continental breakfast, and you'll be all set! :-) Stay warm and safe! *hugs*

yep that might have to happen, the hotel. We have only two in a 25 mile radius so...it's the trucker's Red Roof Inn or the Best Western in town. at least then I could walk across the street to the fast food provided THEY have power

Wow, hope you keep power. I have all electric everything, too, and that's a big worry with me, too, should the electric go out.

Yeah, we didn't get that bad of a storm, so unless a tree came down somewhere, no one lost power here.

Are you back home now?

We are experiencing the same thing, snw to ice, then rain..well sort of rain. We are supposed to get more ice stuff tonight...ugh the kids have been home for three days, geeze, like cabin fever, can they just go back? I hate weather like this. And the driving sucks.
