Mostly just worked on lectures and exams. In fact I probably would have passed on posting except I thought that this should get out there, especially to my anime/manga friends. I was watching America's Most Wanted last night and they were talking about a mom who confiscated her 14 y.o. daughter's cell phone as punishment and came across a mess of continuing messages from a 40 year old family friend, all of a highly sexual nature.

He told police that he and the girl are both into anime fandom and that all that text messaging was him writing her a fan story. Naturally he wasn't charged then and there and the girl told her friends she was going to an anime con with him. That was a month ago. Neither have been seen since.

yeah. I mean I've been watching AMW's for 26 years (or is it 27 now?) A few of them have hit me personally (quite literally. I've known two people on there so far). This is one of them

really F-ing pisses me off. One because he's a pervert! un 14 and 40 can we say ewwww. Twom this crap riuns it for the anime fans and conventions. Cos' you know they are gong to be looking for him and all and probably securing the conventions and all, making life jus a little harder for the fans. And can I say when I was 14, I didn't go off with NO ONE whether I knew them or not. Sometimes I think kids do;t know enough. Sorry for the rant, this stuff really erks me the wrong way, the damn perverts!

I'm old enough to remember them totally condemning Dungeons and Dragons because one kid went on akilling spree and it's like no, he was unstable the game didn't make him do it, just like anime didn't make this guy a perv but people will say it just the same.

this story followed on hte heels of another one about a 14 year old murdered girl who used her phone to make one sexual hook up after another...

This sucks. Parents seriously need to teach their kids more common sense. Of course she's probably gonna just use anime as a scapegoat anyway.
