got sick again. Talked to the nursing secretary who's had this one day longer than me. It's just that nasty.

didn't get to see the art exhibir as a result so boo

and that help? I'm working on a YA novel. The characters are going to the homecoming dance (assuming they still DO that sort of thing), I was wondering what the girl would wear. If it was the prom,it would be no problem. I know how fancy that is. Back in my day homecoming, you wore a nice outfit but nothing too fancy. How about today? Or shall I solve it by sending her in Steampunk to match her Gothy boyfriend?

Girls usually wear party dresses to Homecoming. Not as formal as prom, but still evening wear, not just ordinary dressy casual clothes. Boys usually wear button downs and jackets. Some wear ties. That's the way it is around here anyway.

The boys who fail at dressing themselves properly for a date are the lament and embarrassment of their girlfriends.

LOL Guess not. I was last at a homecoming dance about 10 years ago and that's about how it went for us too. Except my mother made sure my date looked good XD

Homecoming at the teenager's high school, which granted is in the middle of BFE, is casual. They usually wear jeans and nice shirts (girls & boys) or skirts and dresses but casual, not formal attire or anything like that. We have both a football and a basketball homecoming and the dance for both is the same. Just casual wear - same as it was when I went to school there.

thanks. i just know that two of my cousins (Pittsburgh and Raliegh) had girls who i thought were way over dressed for homecoming so I was wondering if the standards had changed.

I was such a recluse punk during HS I'm afraid I'm useless. Pretty dress from the junior's section of the major department store should fit the bill -- strapless and short, probably. If she's the stand-out type than something gothy from Hot Topic. Is that helpful at all? I doubt it.

But I did click eggs. :)

Are the dragon well and golden monkey from Adagio? Let me know if the dragon well is good, wherever it's from--I'm in the market for good sencha and good dragon well. The health-food-store sencha and dragon well are good, but have a little off taste, either from being stored too long or being stored in bins that once held something else. Or, quite possibly, both.

yep they are. the dragonwell is pretty good. there was a slight aftertaste but i think that might have been from not washing the brew pot out well. I had lapsang sou chong in there before the dragonwell
