I'm sad

I got my college's alumni newsletter (because they insist on sending it more so than me wanting it) and one of my favorite professors died. His brother taught me biology in high school and he taught me almost all my history courses at Waynesburgh. He was funny and a wonderful lecturer and fair on papers. He talked me into a history minor and wrote me letters of recommendation and liked to hear my stories.

Goodbye Dr. Hollaran. The beers at pizza and beer night tonight were for you. (also the president of my undergrad also died)

And it was pizza and beer night. It was good.

I had more books when i got home. It was good

My cats deserted me and frankly I'm revelling in the lack of evil

Saw this in a TV WO pity article We're still iffy on this show, but it took a while for "Angel" to really hit its stride, too. Even "Buffy" had some less-than-stellar first season episodes. Perhaps that's just part of Joss Whedon's style. This is in regards to Dollhouse (and several other shows) likely to be axed. And I'm thinking that shouldn't be something he wants as his style. I quit long before this show 'hit it's stride' and tuned in after is supposedly had and it was still boring and dumb and offensive so I guess I won'tbe sad if it's canned.

Apropos of nothing, I have noticed something. Writer guidelines for most anthologies/magazines/epublishers are some of the snippiest things I've ever seen. Honestly, none of them make me WANT to write for them. I feel like I'm a peon who should be happy for a moment of their time. Damn, it's like if you had welcoming guidelines i'd probably knock myself out to write for you.

Aw, so sorry for the loss of a really good, kindly professor - we can never have enough of those.

Sorry for your loss. I sometimes realize with some sadness that many of my favorite teachers MUST have passed on by now, but until I actually hear it, I still think of them as they were.

I haven't watched any Dollhouse. Not really interested in the actor or the show. *shrug*

yeah same here. one ofmy other favorites died years ago but he had liver cancer when i was still in school.

Yeah Dollhouse was a bust for me. Eliza's acting skills seem to get worse the older she gets
