since it's the time of year
Apr. 10th, 2009 11:05 amwhen many of us turn to religious thought and prayer, I have a couple people I'd like you to add to yours.
1. My sister in law. She broke out in a rash a week ago. At first they thought it was an allergic reaction to the antibiotics they gave her for bronchitis. She works at a hospital (respitory therapist) so the doc's see her every day. She wasn't getting better. They got concerned and ran more tests like measles. Whatever it is, it's spreading. If it's not gone by tomorrow, they're CTing her whole body fearing it's a manifestation of an autoimmune diease
2. My cousin, Joyce. SHe's in the ICU and really, not expected to live. I'm more hoping for a quick and painless death than anything. She's been failing for a while now. Joycie is one of the oldest living Down Syndrome people on record. SHe's 70. The doctors don't hold out much hope for her. I just don't want to see her linger in pain.
thanks

Date: 2009-04-10 04:51 pm (UTC)But I'm very good with sincere hopes for wellness and peace for your sister-in-law and your cousin -- and for YOU.
A colleague of mine that I did not even know had cancer died a few days ago, and I was floored. Strong, kind, intelligent woman who often gave me guidance as a junior colleague. Then I learned another retiring colleague's wife just suffered a stroke because of a virus!
Illness sucks. Mortality sucks harder.
Do something that makes you feel happy to be alive today, ok? HUGS.

Date: 2009-04-10 04:55 pm (UTC)Yeah it does suck. Sorry to hear about your colleague. I had one die suddenly last year returning from his own father's funeral.
Thanks. I had wanted to take your advice but i'm STILL sick. so I guess writing and reading will be my happy time while I stay chained to the porcelain throne
