Scar understanding Roy's need for vengenance and his prediction it would consume him. Ed going BACK to stop Roy from losing himself, amazingly mature and wonderful.

The whole battle both Roy and Riza's parts in it absolutely epic.

Roy's skill is SO MUCH MORE than I ever even imagined. He amazes me. Loves him even more

Riza's 'he always calls me Riza when we're alone' was great even if she did do a take back on it.

And did I call it? I knew Envy would turn into Maes. Roy didn't even care, you go Roy.

I see Riza ALSO thinks Roy will lose himself if he kills Envy

the only thing I dont' get is WHY? He killed Lust to save her and Alphonse and to avenge Havoc. No one protested that. How is this different?

and Damn Envy's hard to kill. #95 can't get here fast enough

i suppose that is true. I guess I just felt that THIS rage was justified. There's a difference between that and Scar's decade long rampage.

That said I could see why Ed wouldn't see it that way. For all his mouthiness, he's rather gentle. Riza is probably fearing this will be the time to keep her other promise

However, it would have made WAY more sense for them to intervene during the firefight rather than keeping Roy from squashing Envy like a spider. At that point it was over.

I agree with amestris_star - Roy's lost himself in hatred at this moment. He isn't protecting anyone; he's just killing to kill. He's won this battle. If he kills Envy now, while Envy is helpless, he hasn't won the fight.

I see it very differently. This thing is exceedingly dangerous. The fight isn't over until Envy is dead. It would be folly to stop now
