Writerly Ways
May. 3rd, 2009 07:41 pmI don't really have any thoughts just now. I said I was going to start with the morning papers today ala
masqthephlsphr but then slept to 10 AM 0_0! (okay I did go to bed at 2 but still)
I did manage to write 3,043 words of new original fiction over the last week. Mostly that was all me adding to existing stories, cleaning them up but some of it was work on my werewolf YA novel (a former nano) which had run out of chapters and I needed something new for my writers group in two weeks. I'm actually pretty happy with them.
I did go looking for possible markets for existing short stories. I'm still scowling that most of the paying markets on Ralan.com STILL want snail mail submissions. THis is why I dropped out 10 years ago. Genre short stories (barring romance) pay very little. It wasn't worth the postage. You'd think a decade down the line this would have changed. Sigh.
I did find two markets for a longish vampire erotica. It needed overhauled in the worst way (It also being nearly a decade old). It might be popping up on my original fiction filter for those who read on that.
I am still obsessessing over the story i sent to circlet. I might send a query about it. One editor wanted it so bad she said she would buy it even in reprint but she ended up not the editor of this anthology. I never heard that they even got it (new rule, online submission friendly sites need autorepliers) and it's been a month. I need to go look at their reading times. I know places hate the didja get it query but a month after sending a story they seemed to really want makes me way more nervous than it should.
okay I lied. I had thoughts.
