There was once a horoscope for me that said I AM the Cosmic Joke. I clipped it out. It's very true. Okay, so to get the raccoons out of the attic we turned on the lights, the sound and put up bowls of ammonia. And the live trap is outside which is where the person who does this for a living put it. I'm assuming the theory is once the raccoon is driven out of the attic it'll go for the live trap.

Someone wakes me up this morning to tell me about the black thing in the live trap. She's one of the trappers and neither of us want to get closer to said black thing which is curled up sleeping because a) it's a skunk or b) it's a porcupine.

Can you say son of a bitch? Yeah, I thought so. Either way we're gonna get hurt trying to get this thing out of the trap. You can toss a very heavy blanket over it. The skunk won't spray if it's totally in the dark. Problem is you can't just shoot a skunk because the scent glands will let go as it dies...

And I'm not sure a skunk is a proper Mabon sacrifice. It's a porcupine I could at least harvest the quills... now regretting not baiting the trap with chocolate.

As for the coon, I think it's back in the attic lights and ammonia or no.
