found the issue of Writers' Digest that my novel was exerpted in

I found the novel I started in High School, all 310 pages of it. I'm scared to read it. I can't toss it though. This is the only remaining copy. It was done on an Apple IIE.

Found the postcards from a the guy who did the Tim Hunter comic books.

Found ALL the correspondence feud with someone from Elfquest (more on that another time just to prove fandom wank is nothingnew), someone who used me to get introductions to the BNF (as she saw them, not what these ladies called themselves mind you)

patient notes...almost old enough to be legally destroyed. they went back into storage.

Mom got me a nice Buddha for my garden. yay.

oh yes and you were one of the ones she was desperate for me to introduce her to. Afterwards she started spreading rumors about me like I was in a drunken car wreck among others.

Seriously? Weird! I never heard a thing about that. (And why in heck would they think they needed an introduction, anyway?)

I swear, there were enough wanky feuds among that tiny group of people to put a few mega-fandoms to shame.

oh yeah, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. Sadly all the taped 'letters' on cassette have long since disintegrated into nothingness but there was so completely odd and ugly stuff coming from that arena

And oh no kidding. and it was even crazier since we all had each other's home addresses.

Tell me about it. :P And the pity of it was, I really loved the universe and the characters. If it weren't for the feuds I'd probably still be writing there.

to be honest those feuds are what made me quit, that and I sold two stories right around that same time (after a few people from there said I sucked as a writer) I figured I was just starting my medical practice who needed this sort of fandom grief?

Oh, I know how that goes. When I prepped "Coming Attractions" to go out to Amazon I did a final run through and made probably a change or two every few pages -- even though I wrote the "final" draft years ago.
