First off the parasitology slides were missing. Now these are kept only in my office so people won't take them. Why one tray is missing (unless I never did have them. It's been two years since I've done this class) i have no idea. So I scramble for the dvd's...yeah that's missing too. Sigh. I go to look for online media and learn there's a loud obnoxious band called cryptosporidia parvum but that didn't really help much. So student based go do book research lab it was.
Somehow i forgot to copy something for the anatomy lab. no big deal. I set them up to do the first part of the lab, look at spinal cords under the scopes while I take a pee break and make those copies. The power goes out while I'm in the toilet (well at least I can find all the parts in the dark). Luckily I have the copying done. the power doesn't come back. We ditch the scopes. I explain the reflex lab which is fun. they get to hit each other. I go to get the reflex hammers. they're GONE. all of them. GRRR. I give them the copied homework and say do it in the dark I'll be back. I go find the other prof who teaches anatomy but she says she had the hammers in my lab last semester. We can't find them anywhere. Lights still aren't on. I call it all off and we all go home early.
Now I'm sitting at home waiting on DISH to get here. I'm betting special bus day continues since today the sound is FINE (naturally)
But in the meantime i DID read franky house's scanlation of FMA 99
Okay this time the battle scene didn't bore me even though it went on as long as last time. I think that was for two reasons. THe Bradley/Fuu/Greed!Ling battle was so dynamic and the emotions were there too. They were missing last time. Ling stealing control when Fuu begins to falter was amazing. The pain on his face as his mentor (and prehaps surrogate granddaddy) slowly dies was great.
Bradley foiling Fuu's plan amazing, Buccaneering using that to his advantage equaslly so. The look on Greed's face as he swoops down on Bradley as Fuu dies...wow.
Can't wait to see what sort of smackdown Ran Fan is going to give Bradley now. Wonders if he'll escape this battle.
Though Fuu (sniffle) your engrish made me giggle. Harden yourself Greed is NOT good word choice, just saying.
The whole thing with the nameless scientist-alchemist was great. The ending took me by complete surprise. THe eyes were creepy as hell and I was NOT expecting Ed/AL/Izumi to disappear, apparently taken by this gate-like thing.
The question remains, why just those three? We know Mustang is a sacrifice yet he wasn't pulled apart by that thing. Why? Can't wait to see.
Things I didn't like: Al's first appearance, i just didn't like the perspective on that art. He looks like he's skipping to class or something. Also didn't like Mustang in this. He pretty much just stood there doing nothing. He's a better fighter than that. So are ALL of them. Yes, the old men were highly trained by why did Roy not use his alchemy at all (other than we needed those men to disappear when Ed did and that wouldn't happen if ROy flambeed them)
Hell of a cliffhanger though.

Date: 2009-09-16 12:37 am (UTC)I'm betting only Ed - Al - Izumi vanished because they've opened the gate. Father said that about them a while back.
