I forgot to mention that when I came home my bedroom is covered in flies and lady bugs. It's the ONLY room in the house that is and Ihave no idea how they're getting in here with both sets of windows down. It's absolutely disgusting. I'm so revolted I'm probably going to sleep on the futon in the living room. I've never seen anything like this I've been killing them all night and they just keep coming. I hate this house and it hates me.

But there was on good thing I was thi nking of talking about, TV. One I decided to rent MASH dvd's, as an alternative to watching my lousy reception (another total reason to leave asap) Yeah I know every eppy by heart especially the early ones but I've been seeing htem in syndication all this time. I had forgotten just how much had been gutted. It's nice to seem them in total.

The other is Hawaii. Yeah, it's yet another cop show and the cops are fairly stereotypical but you know what I liked about it (outside of Michael B.) Is that it DOESN'T ignore the culture of the Islands. Two uniformed cops are obvious Hawaiians, many of the background characters are and more interestingly they actually use both the Polynesian and Japanese cultures a lot. You generally dont' see that. For me, it helps balance the otherwise formulaic show.

I lived in an in-law apartment in the basement of a house in San Francisco for about seven months. The people upstairs, unbeknownst to me, were also renters, but they lead me to believe they were the owners. They never mowed the grass or trimmed the hedges. Since I moved in in December, I didn't notice much. Come June and July, things were so gross and overgrown I had little flying knats congregating on the walls and ceiling of both rooms of my little shoebox apartment. I would spend hours spraying them and vacuuming up their remains.

I was trying to move out, naturally, but the movers couldn't get my stuff out until the side yard was cleaned up of five-six foot concrete-choking weeds. And naturally the upstairs folks wouldn't spring for a landscaper. So I had to pull and chop down all those weeds myself.

*ugh*

The situation was miles more complicated than I just indicated and involved lawyers and stuff, and I came out of it with more money than I had going in, but the weeds and the bugs? That part was gross.

Okay that IS a nightmare. Thank god I've never had that sort of problem. My big problem is I don't know where the bugs are getting in. If they're getting in that means heat is getting out and that's my bigger concern in a place that will get as cold as this forest will

I didn't know how those bugs got in, either, because they sure weren't flying in through the front door when I came in and went out. I checked for holes in the window screens (but since I rarely open my windows this seemed an unlikely source of the problem) and taped the sides of all the doors and windows, and it didn't seem to help.

Bug infestations and Season 3 of AtS. That's what I remember of that apartment experience. ; )

that is the frustrating thing. i know there's a spot in the window they could come in but both the storm and the inner windows are DOWN (I mean it was 24 degrees out two days ago) sigh.

It could be worse. It could be those palmetto bugs and huntsmen spiders from FL!

Oh and I love the Connor/Angel sparring icon. There's a little character study I wanted to do. Did the boy actually enjoy it or is he that good of an actor?

Is "he" Connor or VK?

If you mean Connor, damned right he enjoyed it. He was always ambivalent about his father. It was never total hate, and in many ways he is a chip off the old block. I think he wanted to connect with Angel, but there was too much baggage and crap that got in the way of that.

Which makes me sad. There was so much to explore in both characters via their relationship with each other, and it was sidelined for an over-the-top evil!Cordelia story line.

But, ha ha! Connor survived Not Fade Away, and now he's all mine to write about!!

PS: did you always have that mood theme, or is that new??

If you mean the goth boy, he's new...otherwise I have no mood theme.

And yes I meant Connor enjoying the sparring with Angel and I agree, he enjoyed it even if he didn't want to which I suspect he didn't. He was certianly offended and hurt when Holtz called him on it.

Yeah as much as I didn't mind Evil Cordy I wish they would have ignored the pregnancy and found a better story line for Angel and Connor, that probably should have been the real focus of S4
