Bob Evans Farm Festival

An exercise in mudding. Mom had her handicapped sticker or we wouldn't have even GONE. The deluge yesterday turned the fields into seas of mud. We could park up on higher drier ground and we were still lilypadding from one clump of hay to the other. I had mud so far up my legs i took my pants off in the foyer when i got home.
This year there were some of the same vendors and its like okay I've already bought everything from them I could possibly want. And there was less seasonal stuff (which I would buy for gifts) and more country stuff. No one in my family does country. I did get my maple sugar cotton candy and my huge jar of honey though and some fair trade coffee from a local vendor who did up the canvas coffee bags as totes...only they were 50$...for something she had for free...
I did get some of my favorite handmade soap and ate bean soup cooked in a cauldron over an open fire. mom liked it so much we carted back a half gallon for her to take to Dad
After we came home and regrouped we went to athens to Staples to get me a replacement for my 10 year old task chair...I didn't love any of them and the one i DID like was out of stock. THey wouldn't take anything off the floor model and it was all scuffed up. However I did get a much nicer ergonomic computer stand. I'll go buy some memory foam for the chair. Wish me luck building the stupid stand. I forsee much swearing in mom and my's future tomorrow.
We hit my favorite restaurant, the Japanese/Chinese China Panda in Athens. Mom had the crab rangoon and is still talking about them. Huge. delicious. The food there is usually very good. Hit the big Krogers too.
After many tries (and two tries at work but the doors were locked and my front door key would NOT open them might be a festival thing) I finally hit a time where the damn zip of FMA 100 would download here.
I honestly have mixed feelings about this. Sure I'm screaming NOOOOO Riza but more on that later.
I loved Ling. The fact that he totally submerged Greed and wept and pleaded to bring back Fuu was simply amazing. I loved him even more for that. That he was willing to give up his Stone for Fuu speaks to the affection he had for the man. Also that he wanted to share his immortality with Ran Fan and Fuu is also interesting. I'm curious to see how it'll shake out for him.
Some dull fighting...
Ugh the cliche fest with the solar eclipse returns but i guess it does it's usual cliched thing of putting a time clock on the event. At least we got to see Elicia and Gracia again and that was nice. I love how Arakawa doesn't forget characters which is easy to do with as many as she has.
Love that Ed and Izumi's first words both are motherfucker. So is this where Ed got his potty mouth? Al...what happened buddy? Shock? Soul separation? Makes me nervous (though I honestly believe Ed & Al will survive or there would be a revolt).
Father Homunculus is damned creepy looking, even more so with Hoho sticking out of him.
and now we reach the problem area. I had this problem last time and it was worse this time. Riza, Scar and Roy are GOOD fighters so why is it suddenly, they can't fight their way out of a wet paper bag? Yes we needed to slit Riza's throat and on cue but all Scar does is dance around. Riza seems to be missing targets left and right and she never misses her targets any other time.
And what is Roy doing? We KNOW he can control his fire. He has very good control so why isn't he using it? He's just standing there until he's restrained like a freshman during Academy's hellweek.
This just didnt' work for me on so many levels.
And see Roy, you should have just tried to bring back Maes. Then again wth does that man expect Roy to do without any resources? and why are they so sure Roy KNOWS how? Of course I've always assumed he DID know since he knew instantly what Ed & Al had done.
Riza had better not die. Friend? Lover? slit throat. hmmm, better see something on their relationship next time. I honestly think Roy will open the gate to save her which is probably the last thing he should do. Sadly Hoho won't be able to talk Roy through saving her but something will. Hey, it worked for Indiana Jones when they used this same ploy on him, ri ght

Date: 2009-10-11 03:47 am (UTC)Al can't move because his soul found his body. :D
Loved Ed and Izumi both swearing the same string of curses...seems she taught him more than alchemy.
LING! GREED (who so nobly acquiesced to Ling's request)! Oh ling...but why the hell is nobody going after Bradley? You know he's not dead yet. Bob-Fish reckons Olivier will have to take him on in the sword fight of death. I look forward to that!
