The Haunted theatre really is haunted. I've known that. Occasionally there is a chatterer or someone trying to make me look. (if you don't believe in ghosts you can scroll on past) so I was stringing up lights in the tunnel when something caught my attention, nothing visual or auditory. It was more subliminal. 'follow me' So i did and found an old staircase and a walled up archway behind some stuff (they were the old staircase into the tunnel and the arch was another tunnel branch that collapsed and was walled off.

Later I was working running up to the fourth floor to get props and I have to skirt the third floor to do so. This is the freemasons' area. Well, they're moving out and they forgot to lock up. I HAD to go in and touch the altar (forbidden act, oooo). I could barely go in. The place felt cold and arrogant and overwhelming with bottled emotion. It felt so negative. I did explore though. Had to. Just had to.

I have no idea how we'll be ready by tomorrow night for dress rehersal. Speaking of which if you chat at me at night, I'll be on very late from now until next monday (and repeat next weekend too)

Freemasons aren't THAT bad... My Dad is a past master/32nd degree and has been since before I was 10.

I am going to read Dan Brown's book. Dad by oath can't tell me a damned thing about Freemasonry.

I don't think he's too "eww girls" though. When asked if he and Mom would try for a son after two girls he said, "Why? Real men raise girls!"

hahaha the masons of today are nothing like they were. Still no girls allowed. they created a group just for us, the evening star.

there are a lot of interesting books out there on freemasonry though (Not sure Brown's book counts)

You can probably find one of the old Freemasons' handbooks somewhere. I saw one, once, and the rituals were...uh...ceremonial. Now I shall be killed with building trowels, oh noes.

A lot of the relatives on my mom's side of the family were high-ranking Masons or Eastern Stars (the women's group).

Ooooh, poking their altar with your female fingers! How scandalous! Sigh. Ceremonial magick always seems so very tedious to me, with its emphasis on hierarchy and all.

hmmm most ceremonial magic tends to be more martiarchial in nature really. though I suppose it depends on the society in general. I see them as less ceremonial magic and just plain ceremony though that tendency toward ritual is what ended up dooming them in the 1800's after centuries of power
