i got less than 4 hours sleep. I have a massive sinus headache but it was the sheer heat in the room that kept me awake. I ended up sitting outside on the porch with the snow trying to cool off.
then the anxiety crap started (thank you diabetes) so i couldn't sleep.
at least the snow looks like a field of diamonds and that's pretty

Date: 2009-12-22 12:56 am (UTC)So I'm screwed and wake up with every inch of me absolutely aching after four hours or so of actual sleep.
I also have my mother telling me it's diagnosing myself to know that the cerebellum controls the muscles.
Oh, how I wanted to walk away. She wanted to know why I couldn't stand up straight.
I don't know what she wants -- a smart daughter or a dumb one, I honestly don't know.
Anyway, feel free to send some of that heat up here, if you please.

Date: 2009-12-22 03:41 am (UTC)Just to check -- the cerebellum does control the muscles, yes? I don't want to be annoyed for no good reason.

Date: 2009-12-22 03:54 am (UTC)the cerebellum controls the muscle movement to a point but initiation of muscle movement comes from the area just anterior to the central gyrus in the frontal lobe and the basal nuclei and the strial-nigra formation play a role.

Date: 2009-12-22 04:02 am (UTC)Also, is the strial-nigra formation anywhere near the brain stem like with the pons or the cerebellar tonsils?
I also wonder, had I not been born with neurological underdevelopment, would I be so interested in all of this or want to be a physician at least of a sort?
Guess I'll never know.
I am actually reading Gray's Anatomy from the beginning because it's very relaxing and I need that. I've managed to retain most of what I've read so far. The last thing I mainly recall were yellow elastic fibers, I presume for the tendons?
It's not specifying at the moment. What I'd like to do is stop procrastinating and finally finish the TINY little part of Human Anatomy: From the Renaissance to the Digital Age I have left. Like, less than thirty pages, but my usual habit of getting near the end of a book and just stopping (it took me four years to finish Slaughter-house Five for this very reason) is kind of getting in the way.
That and I keep going back to examine the lithographs. Must concentrate!
