It's like living in a snow globe

I love it. It's perfect soup weather. I'm hoping it snows enough to cancel the boring all-day meeting we have at the beginning of each semester.

I did escape early this morning before the snow came. I got to Big Lots hoping they'd have some gift packs on sale. they did. I got 4 tubes of wrapping paper, two gift packs (one peppermint martini kit, one hot chocolate kit) and a book for under 17$.

I hit Kroger's. Holy crap people are in a panic. I was there since I haven't been home for three weeks and have no food. I haven't seen lines that long even in holiday evenings, let alone 10:30 on a thursday. They are in the process of flipflopping the entire store lay out. I had to hunt down everything. gah.

Hit Wal-mart, got rubber floor mats to save Naru's interior from the gunk of winter and got some window plastic. here's hoping it works.

Even got my mail and got all the cards mailed here so thank you to rahirah, wildrider trixiefatcat, sita_137 & ljgould for the new year's card.

woke up too early this morning having a panic attack about thos student loans. sigh. and I had two great dreams

1. I dreamt I was at evil_little_dog's house and INSISTED she buy a powerball ticket (she didn't want to). She won and I told her to go buy back her house in FL so she could move in with silvrethorn and I could snowbird when I get old and gray.

2. I dreamt I was marrying and Indian cardiologist. I wore a sari and the wedding was in a cave (just like I always wanted) but mom was so upset that there would be NO prime rib at the reception.

I got my syllabi done. Got my editing on the Pompeii thing done. (thank youevil_little_dog & bob_fish). Now i'm working on the stupid cover letter and synopsis (the most tedious thing in the world to write)

I know. It's like mom, I married a Hindu, no beef. SHe didn't mind him being Hindu but she wanted that prime rib (it's even funnier when you realize my mom doesn't really like prime rib. I do)
