WHEE. Snow day. The tedious meeting from hell was canceled. I fear knowing how I'll have to make THAT up. I might build me a snow man. I took pictures of my failure to pluck Buddha out of the garden and put him under cover.

I'm sitting here with my honeyed tea and crumpets with tart cherry jam working on my synopsis and what not to get them the heck on out of here.

speaking of that, according to the electric company my bank took TWELVE days to send them a check and for them to cash it. If i can prove (which I can) that i paid by the 23'rd they'll remove the late fee. Why in the hell do banks MAIL a check when I use electronic billing (mom's does too) shit, that has to be a losing proposition for the bank. Surely this can all be done electronically or am I missing something.

I never use my bank's bill pay service; I just don't trust it, for just the reason you state. If I wanted a damned check mailed out, I can do it myself. Fortunately for me, AEP uses CheckFree at their website, and I've never had a problem with it.

wheni used to mail checks they'd claim they a) never got there b) took two weeks to process if they did get it so online became easier. thoughI'm finding less issues if i go direct to company but on dial up that's a hassle

Oh yes, and I thoroughly approve of your English breakfast kit and am glad it survived. Poached eggs on English muffin (aka proper muffin) are particularly good, but crumpets and jam also work, particularly with tea and snow added.

chunky english muffins are in the kit too. It will have be scrambled eggs though. I only like eggs about two ways scrambled/omlet or hard boiled. Poached eggs look at you.

i can't find clotted cream down here though my diet probably is happy for it. I didn't mind a bit of it with jam. It tasted, unsurprisingly, too much like milk for me. I'm with Ed on that count

Clotted cream is delicious but by no means compulsory for scones. Incidentally, Dr H despises milk too - but she is fine with cream and with things that have milk in that she hasn't seen or can fool herself isn't there. She is a lactose denialist. I keep meaning to shamelessly steal her angle on this for ficcage amusement.

I'm getting more lactose intolerant as I go. I don't mind things cooked with milk. It's the smell of it I can't stand. I have to hold my nose to stir in chocolate for hot chocolate.
