12_daysofficmas. When I asked for prompts
seaweed_fma offered up Roy/Riza married and pregnant. They were amenable to this.

"Look, wait for it." Roy waved his mother and sisters over to the couch where Riza was stretched out, her shirt pulled up and tucked under her enormous bust line. Kneeling, Roy balanced a paper crane he had folded on the crest of his wife's swollen belly. A tiny foot appeared, punching out against the taut skin of Riza's belly, kicking the crane off.
"See? That is one aware baby. He's going to be so smart," Roy crowed, tapping on Riza's belly, making the baby kick again.
Riza ruffled his hair. "Could you get me some juice, Roy?"
He popped up. "Of course." Roy turned to his foster mother. "Can you believe how aware that baby is?"
"His father managed to fool homunculi into thinking he was blind and his mother's quick wit changed the tide of the battle. I have no doubt this child will be absolutely brilliant." Christmas grinned, shooing him off.
"Without a doubt." Roy strutted toward the kitchen.
One of his sisters burst out laughing and Chris pulled at her own lips as if trying to keep the laughter in.
"He acts like he's the first man to father a child," a curl headed blond said.
"Please, Abigail, don't tell him that," Riza moaned. "He'll sulk for a week."
"Forget my foolish boy." Chris waved a heavily ringed hand. "I want to know you feel, Riza."
Riza pulled her shirt back down over her belly and rolled about like a hard-boiled egg, trying to get back into a sitting position. Abigail helped her. "Ready for this baby to come out. I'd do jumping jacks if I thought it would help." She gazed down at her belly. "And that I wouldn't go through the floor." Riza sighed. "I'm doing fine, madam. Roy is a big help, sometimes too much of a help. He can drive me a bit crazy."
"He can do that on a good day," Abigail agreed.
"Is he still having morning sickness?" Vanessa, another sister asked, her dark eyes gleaming and this time Chris did chuckle.
"Don't call it that either. It was nerves from worrying about me." Riza laughed. "And he's better now. Sadly, he's craving stinky tofu. I make him eat it outside. Gracia and I have been talking. Roy is now officially worse than Maes."
Chris' mobile lips stretched into a frown. "I miss that boy."
"We all do," Riza agreed. "But Roy has utterly surpassed him when it comes to obsessing over the baby."
"I heard that." Roy came back into the room with a juice glass. "I am nowhere near Maes' obsession."
Riza laughed. "Let me put it this way, Roy. If I catch you stockpiling film, I'm shooting you."
He pushed his lower lip out at her.
"Speaking of pictures, Roy, go sit with Riza." Vanessa shoved him gently.
Abigail took the juice glass from Riza. "Smile."
"Don’t worry," Chris said. "This all ended far better than anyone expected. They have plenty to smile about."
"We certainly do," Riza said as Roy put his arms around her, his hands resting on her belly.
Roy touched his head to hers, grinning broadly. "Love you," he whispered.
"Always," she murmured back then smiled for the camera. Her baby would have documented life second only to Elicia Hughes if that. Chris was right; there was just so much to be happy about.

Date: 2010-01-11 02:59 am (UTC)I knew that Roy would end up being as crazy of a parent as Maes was.
I would love to see what happened when the baby is born. I bet he would be a nervous wreck.
Thanks again. That made a nice end to a stressful day, to say the least.
