I've hit a major block in my bigbang. I'm over the required word count. That isn't the trouble. I know the ending. BUT...there is no middle. Part of me says do this or that but the other part says no that's too soon.

Then i remind myself I only have about two weeks. THere is NO SUCH THING as too soon at this point. But i think it will feel rushed if i do that.

argh argh. This is going to need a sounding board I think. whimpers. my usual sounding boards have big bangs of their own to do. whimpers more

things I know need to happen or at least want to happen.

1 - might be nice if Maes did something on his own

2 - The brothers need to do something risky to set Roy off

3- Roy loses his control

4 - Maes confides one of Roy's secrets to the brothers

5 - villian set #1 has to do something

6 - villian set #2 has to do something

7 - Madam Christmas et al should probably do something

8 - they blow off steam

9 - bad stuff happens to Ed

10 - group sex unaware that something bad is happening to Ed

11 - they try to rescue Ed

12 - Ed tries to rescue himself

Riza/Armstrong/Breda have absolutely NOTHING to do.

these scenes all sound awesome, but - a lot to get through in two weeks? You could take out the ones which are less necessary, then maybe slot them back in after the first draft if you really like them? Mind you, your writing methods are quite different to mine (and obvs working for you in terms of getting stuff out because you're amazingly prolific)

When my characters have nothing to do and I miss them, sometimes I have them sitting around pissing about as if they're in the green room. You may notice Breda does this a lot in NSI. Next chapter I was thinking of having a scene of Riza (shoulder injury, remember) and Havoc sulking together and being bad at waiting around while half the tachi are off enjoying an action scene.

I actually AM writing a couple scenes separately. I tend NOT to work out of sequence since I have a poor record of it but i'm doing one scene on paper and the other on the computer right now.

My problem? I write all the fun stuff first. That's a bad habit, I always end up left with the plot expo and it kills me finding fun ways to deliver it.

With enemy as my beta I can safely say that will never happen to me XP. She is on board with the glacial pace at which I am moving the shippy stuff in NSI, which means you get to read the action-packed conclusion without doing a spit-take from unexpected Roy/Ed porn. XD

With Roy's sister? I nearly had a scene with Breda trying to pull Vanessa but being too scared because she was surprise-glomping Roy. Glad he's managed to snag a sister in your fic. I kind of want to set him up with one of the snarky ones to see how he handles it. XD

I'm presuming the scenario you'd like is lack of porn rather than porn? Unless I'm totally surprised (unlikely given how I've overplanned this fic), not even kissage until the sequel, so you're in luck.

I wrote Vanessa a little sweeter and dafter (although most of her bits got cut in the end as I had difficulty getting a handle on her) but yeah, otherwise I have snarky sister and snarkier sister. I think if you grow up in that house, you're highly likely to pick up a little snark. XD

OMG writing blocks drive me nuts!! As so twenty rewrites, just in the first month...grrr...

There's one fic I have been working on since last year- last year!- and I still can't get it started the way I envision it... *sigh* Oh well, at least I have the idea now, and even that took a year and a day (I kid you not) to come up with!
