I called DISH Network thinking I might be able to bundle something.

Their satellite internet is wild blue (I've been warned by students, friends and one installer how much this sucks) and even the rep says 'well...it gets really slow if there are too many people' (yeah at 80$/month) but guess what they don't come out this far... We DO have DSL (hell that's better since i have DISH tv and that blows too. I don't trust satellite). Yeah no DSL here either.

Then my insulin's pen needle must have hit scar tissue and went sideways (it happens) but you don't know that until you push the plunger and the insulin goes under the skin humping it up. BAH

and my heel hurts.

It took us forever to get DSL here - I hope they bring it to your area soon (it has proven to be better and more reliable than cable, for my uses at least).

Sorry to hear about the internet woes. That's amazingly expensive for a basic internet package. I'm guessing it's a lot more complicated because you're quite rural?

Our broadband has been known to go down occasionally, once for a whole month. Dr H and I were climbing the walls - you don't realise how much you depend on it until it's gone.

yep that's the problem. You live in a cow pasture and this is what happens (I basically live in resembol)
