Ribs from the dumpster? THe feral cat had a HUGE rib and a mole on my porch this morning. sigh

Today kinda sucked.

Saw the endocrinologist, my blood sugar is doing so badly he wants me to be hospitalized the next time it goes up. I'm in real danger now of losing a limb, kidney or sight. I don't understand. I'm eating right.I lost 22 pounds. WHY is it going up (he had no answer). He's not happy. I'm depressed. So he gave me a new med. I didn't even fight it this time even though it's an injection. He read from the insert for me a little then gave me samples. then scheduled me to have that kidney cyst and the adrenal tumor re-CT scanned (I moronically forgot to do it last time)

I come home, do the injection then read the insert (yeah in that intelligent order) Big warning if you have gastric paresis DO NOT take this medicine.I t makes it worse. Now doc's don't know every drug interaction/contraindicationbut geeze he was READING it. I said I wouldn't notice if it made me nauseous since i have gastric paresis and i'm ALWAYS nauseous.

He does think going on nutrisystem D would be a good idea especially since I'm already losing weight.

I was so upset in general I totally forgot the end of the haiti bidding. sigh.

I got excited though when I got home and saw I had a netflix. OOOO Darker than Black ....um NO, apparently that was on a wait list. I got Clannad an anime [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog suggested since it had the abused boy archetype I love. Okay it's ONLY subtitled. I don't mind that but then I'm locked in just reading. pouts. And it's NOT subtitled well. it's FAST and then feels the need to put in extra subtitles to explain the uniquely Japanese stuff (like what's dango and -san, -chan -kun etc) RIGHT over the damn faces.

I solved my Vegas problem. I'm inventing a bar for them to be in. GO me. I think i've given up finishing Big Bang entirely by Feb 1st so....

I hope you're ok. I'm really worried for you. It sounds like you need a bigger hospital that specializes in diabetes to figure this out.

that means going to Columbus. I think I'm going to work on that

I think you should. Your case is obviously non-standard.

Definitely work on getting to a hospital that specializes in Diabetes. All of your doctors need to be on the same page and at the forefront of "their" respective fields... but you know that.

I'll keep my fingers and everything else crossed for you that your blood sugar goes down and stays down where it's supposed to be.

Have you heard of Joslin Diabetes Centers?
http://www.joslin.org/about_joslin.html

Two in Ohio:

Joslin Diabetes Center
Affiliate at St. Vincent Charity Hospital

216-363-2732 or 1-800-834-4917

Joslin Diabetes Center

It's in my genetics that I WILL have diabetes when I am older. Both Mom and Dad have it. Mom's father had it and grandpa's uncle before that had it. (And I am very very much favoring their side genetics wise.) *Whee? My cousin who is 45 already has it and it's wildly out of control...

Hooray? Not so much.

actually I haven't. Dayton's about 2 1/2 hours frm here. There are a few diabetic specialists in Columbus (I used to consult with them. I was a diabetic wound care specialist so i know very very well what could happen to me)

THanks for this. will look tomorrow on high speed

I'm in real danger now of losing a limb, kidney or sight.

Aw, hell. I second the motion on getting to a hospital that specializes in diabetes. Maybe the cyst or tumor is playing havoc with your system?

::hugs::

that's o ur best guess, ovarian cysts. I have them. I had one during this time judging by how off kilter THAT system got

Bleah. I had an ovarian cyst that was removed along with the ovary. Don't miss it.

I suppose surgery to remove the cyst and tumor is more risky than treating them with meds?

pretty much. the loss of ovaries has bad effects on women (one not so much so but two yes)

it's not my usual anime. that said, outside of some of the subtitling weirdness, I'm enjoying it. I like Tomoyo

That sounds pretty rough, really sorry to hear that. Definitely second what everyone else here says about getting referred to a diabetes specialist at a big teaching hospital - or similar, I think the process of referrals and where the specialists are might be a bit different in the US healthcare system? Anyway, good luck in getting this investigated and hopefully some answers.

On a totally different note, the demon-hunting Vegas threesome story sounds ace. Vegas is a great place for a vampire story - I've never seen it done (but then I'm better versed in horror films than fiction). New Orleans has far too many vampires already, I bet the price of Gothic bachelor pads with good brooding space is through the roof.

From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
yeah I can pretty much call and go on my own provided they take my insurance. My problem is I live so damn far away that I'll have to cancel classes to do this

actually you've blended the two stories. The Vegas one is a vampire story with characters that I'm reviving frmo the early 90's (it was set in New Orleans then but I can't leave them there)

the demon hunting threesome is in Pittsburgh circa 1920

It's just too cute (though mole...ew. Our cats would find shrews) that the cat is bringing you presents.

D: to out of control blood sugar. That sucks.

yeah I'm not happy ...at all

Yeah, it's never fun to clean up but at least they are accepting you. I remember one time when one of the cats brought a dead bird INTO the house. That was so not fun reaching under the couch for it so I could take it back outside.

And we get gross carcasses in our side yard all the time (the guy across the street runs a meat processing plant out of his metal building - how appetizing does that sound!? lol), and the neighborhood dogs drag them over here and feast.

Your blood sugar situation is just way abnormal. You're doing everything right--you should be getting positive results, not more grief. It's got to be tumor activity of some sort, and the sooner they find it and stop it doing its hormonal mischief the better.

it's probably the ovarian cyst but yeah no one seems that concerned about it
