Once again Verizon wins the 'wankers of the year' award. I got my replacement broadband.

I put it in and it doesn't work (well hell it's not even NEW. it's certified 'like new') at all. (the sim card cover is missing but I don't need that he assures me)

V - did you put in the antenna

me - no. you know when I got this thing I said the antenna didn't fit and they made me cram it in there. I'm not sure I can get it apart.

V- I see that

Me - i'll try. OMG the antenna pulled the female out of the broad band device. I TOLD you this antenna didn't work

V- you'll have to pay for that.

Me - I will not! YOU guys told me to stuff the antenna in. (flicks broken piece away) do you still want me to put this in the new one.

V- yes, okay I noted that you won't be charged.

Me - Pushes...I didn't push as hard and...it's connecting WORSE than the last one. (die Verizon die)

V- says a lot of bullshit that makes no sense. finally says 'you have to get teh antenna out of the new one.

Me - why

V- you HAVE to send back a working one (so apparently if the broadband dies for any reason you're to blame) so we can refund everything.

Me - but...who said I was disconnecting service

V - it's not going to GET better

Me - so, i t's this or back to dial up. yes this is twice as expensive b ut it does work better than dial up.

V- you have no other choice (astonished as if this has never happened before)

Me - no offense, I have Verizon phone service. I KNOW you guys never get anything right. You were my last choice.

V- hey does that neighbor with the working broadband have verizon or alltel (whom V ate like the monster it is).

Me - have no idea

V - MOST of the towers in your area are alltel and we haven't made them verizon yet (so why did no one tell me this in feb???)

he tried a hybrid prl (whatever the fuck that is). i have to leave the computer on and connected for 24 hours (because nothing could go wrong there) and see if it gets better.

Verizon seriously you suck

As for poor Ling, I wonder how pleasant the vet tech would be had she gotten bit by a dog and then had her stuff cut off. LOL

That bites. We've got Orange Broadband, who have been occasionally crap (and their technical helpline is scripted, which is insanely irriating ... "Don't worry madam, I can certainly help you with that" - whether they can or not), but nothing like as bad as this.

Comment on Ling......*ROTFLMAO* The only time I came close to that comment was when Rusty was fixed. I got a phone call telling me "You better come get him now, instead of tomorrow." I wondered about that tone in the vet's voice, normally she has no problem with animals. Got there and Rusty had his back turned to the cage door, and REFUSED to look at me...even growled.

Fortunately I had brought a pair of Gerry's welding gloves, put them on and told the techs to clear the room and shut the door. I opened the cage door and firmly said "Now listen here pal." Apparently he wouldn't let them open the cage door, touch him or anything. He was one PISSED off dog!

As for Verizon.....there is NO ONE else available? Absolutely NO ONE? Not even Fairpoint?

OK, so now I won't complain anymore about my new broadband that sometimes connects right away, sometimes takes ten or fifteen minutes, and sometimes won't connect until I disconnect and reconnect seventy times and do a special connectivity dance. And every now and then it won't connect at all. Tonight was an instant-connection night (maybe because it was raining?)

Your cat isn't a real monster unless he has a frowny face pasted on his vet file. Chablis does. She starts hissing and growling the minute she gets through the office doors, and bites and claws if you try to dig her out from under the furniture in the exam room. The vet staff hate her. Talk about embarrassing.
