Admitting you're sometimes an idiot is good for you. I know that someone on my flist and I both posted about Penguin books having an open call for novels (it might be passed at this point). I can't find it any place I would have posted it. Sigh. Anyone else remember it?

It was in my mind because I have edits from my writers group, my original fiction filter and my professor and I really think i can get the first three chapters of Machiavelli Moon ready to go. I'd take a change on the open call. However, I'm not that confident either since i DO have to revamp the ending. I seriously do. I keep saying that and I keep not doing it.

Other than that my brain has been overwhelmed by finals. Now that that's cleared out I'm staring the holidays in the face. Yikes.

I think in the light of all of this, I need to make some early new year's resolutions, edit a chapter of Mmoon a week and write at least 200 words of original fiction a day (not fan fic COM, original)

and for that matter edit up the two or three other short stories that just didn't make the cut and see what else i can do with them. Any ideas for markets for erotica shorts (One het, one gay)

There's a community here on LJ that advertises open calls for anthologies and the like for erotica publishers that's really convenient: call_for_subs

yeah i've published with about half of those. Amber heat is new to me. thanks and the lj site is also new to me. sadly samhain and loose id don't really do shorts, just novella and novels

Yeah, those seem to be the ones that circulate around with the people I know the most. When you say shorts, how short do you mean?

most shorts have to be under 7K or they're unsellable. Sometimes you'll find them taking them longer (Dreamspinner will) or far less (circlet press)
