I have found my plateau. whee. Hey at least I'm not gaining it back, right? How are you all doing? Good, bad?

To be honest, this is going to be the world's briefest post. I have a migraine and otherwise feel like death so, just one quick recipe. You've probably noticed most of my recipes are vegeterian so far. I don't eat a lot of meat and others on the list are actual vegeterians but here's one for us carnivores.

Grilled rosemary steaks

4 strip steaks
2 tablespoons fresh rosemary
2 cloves of garlic
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tsp grated lemon peel
1 tsp black pepper.

Score steaks in a diamond pattern (stabbing with a fork all over works too). Mix all the other ingredients in a bowl. Rub mixture into the steaks. Cover and refrigerate for @ an hour. Take steaks out and let come to room temp so not to shock the meat. Grill to preferred doneness.

Serves four @ 247 calories per serving. South Beach diet cook book

The most challenging thing about this recipe is finding a decent cut of meat. Gah I wish there were butcher shops again.

Mmmm...rosemary.

There is an excellent butcher shop next door to the local library. Bring a cooler next time you visit.

Plateaus are awful. You wouldn't believe how many of them there are even in a twenty-pound drop. But they do pass as soon as your body figures out you're not starving to death.

Tomorrow will determine whether [livejournal.com profile] wildrider's tasty bruschetta and truffles did much damage. Last week I lost about a half pound. I really need to get out and do some walking--that really helped--but this weekend poured rain.

3 more lbs for a total of 17 off. :D

I hit my goal of 15 by the con, so now as a challenge I'd like to see if I can hit 25 by the con. That's 4 weeks for another 10 lbs, a bit of a stretch but maybe I can make it? I'm pretty sure I'll hit 20 before then, so 25 is more of an actual challenge.

I made oatmeal today. Are you proud of me?

yes you are doing excellent. You might be able to make another ten pounds in a month or at least five. good luck

I dunno, was it instant or real :P

I see I did some fancy math. It's another 8 lbs to hit 25 total. XD It's still a bit of a challenge ... I'll see how I do!

It was instant.

That steak sounds divine.

I have kept off about four pounds in these few weeks, which isn't much, but at least I'm getting something (if slowly).

But went out for Chinese food tonight and of course ordered a fried dish (with heavy sauce) -- I'm SO bad at eating out!

four pounds is still good.

yeah I suspect a lot of us are bad when we eat out. I know i am

That sounds yummy.

Well, was on the Wii on Friday. According to the scale in the board, I'm like 201. So, hopefully I can drop below the 200 mark by the end of the month.

(Should really learn to finish what I was thinking. Was distracted and watching Wolfman with Benecio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. :) )

You know, I was just hovering at 150... actually rode my bike 15 miles to two days it got warm in the middle of February, then I had breakfast with my friend at Bob Evans, and for the last 4 days I have been at 153.something. I'm really frustrated and annoyed.

Obviously what I'm currently isn't working for me, because even if I'm perfect for days, I'm not loosing, and being over on calories by a small percentage one in 5 days should not stop me from losing. Even a major overage once in a great while, should not pound back on 3 pounds and then keep them from coming back off for a week.

Just UGH! Tired of none of my clothes fitting right. I'm going to have to change the WHAT back to a lower carb existence. Calories or not, I'm still not loosing and starting to feel like a 5 pound yo-yo.

That strip steak recipe looks right up my alley though... and I think I have everything I need for it except the steaks. They'll have to be cheap London broils if I can't get my sales up.

hopefully you haven't picked up something that's preventing the weight losss then again our age is against us. good luck in finding something that works.

yeah i hear you. my steaks are all 'manager special' (i.e. nearly spoiled)

I think it's my period... or my lack thereof as the case may be. Today I'm even more bloated. I started out the day at about 153 and fit into the dress I put on just fine. By the end of the day I was bloated so bad that the dress was hard to get back off. If I hadn't sewed it up the front last week I'm sure I'd have been popping buttons open like crazy.

Kind of sad. I finally took the plunge and bought a moon cup, and then promptly skipped the next two periods, then had one that was like 2 days of almost nothing, and now seems I'm skipping another.

I think I'm going to take some midols...I haven't felt this bloated in a while, but I feel so bloated I feel like there isn't room in my body for my organs.

Yah.. This morning I woke up with my ear feeling full of goop, a sure sign I'm holding gallons of water. And my weight was 156... so I gained 3 pounds. I don't care what I ate, my intake was not 3 pounds. I ate pretty light most of the day, and then had beef and barley soup for dinner with some homemade bread and then cake. Mmm... Cake.... So I'm relatively certain that I'm getting carb overload and bloating out. Now my ear confirms it. Donna's bread and cake (chocolate with peanut butter icing from scratch) are SOOOO good though. hahaha.
