Washing Away

I lay awake half the night listening to the creek going UNDER my bedroom. the apt has a crawl space below it. Apparently it now has a RIVER below it. thank god the landlord dug out Rocky Creek trying to divert the water a bit or else this would be in my apt.

I have 3 bridges to cross to get off my property. I barely made it. It's still bucketing down. Some students have called off. I had to park in a lake that was the faculty parking.

People are getting buried in snow. I'm washing away.

And it feels like spring it was in the high 60's at 8 am.

wonders if i'll make it back to the apt

I was up all night because the rain freaked out my cat really bad last night.

At work last evening, I asked someone if it was raining because I thought I heard it on the roof. They replied that it wasn't rain, it was a monsoon.

The weather lately... kind of extreme in every way no matter what it is. We had grass fires everywhere all over West Texas. Super scary. I wish Mother Nature would give us some of the rain you're getting.

My boys were not happy last night with all the thunder and lightning going on. It stopped raining here this morning (thank god, since I had to attend a funeral), but the sky still looks like there's more coming.

Hope you make it home safely and don't have your apartment wash away from under you!

Does it at least sound neat to have a creek running under your place? Best sleep I ever got was at summer camp... our digs were on the second floor of the "old main house" that the Cass family donated to the camp. Outside the balcony a stream met Owasco Lake. So excellent.

Yikes. Well, I guess still better under the bedroom than in the bedroom. Hope the water damage won't be too bad. We had water in the basement twice; those machines they use to dry out the walls are pretty noisy.

In FL, it was in like the damn 80s today. My friend and I took her son to an outdoor mall, and in like ten minutes, we were panting from the heat.

The heat gets unbearable, but I do like it quite a bit down here. I'm in the Brevard county area right now.
