So there appears to be no end to my plateau but at my level of activity I have only myself to blame. [livejournal.com profile] enemytosleep shared some zumba workout with herself (I'll have remember to look it up tomorrow)

And here's a great cartoon shared by [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog. This is about my level of working out right now and I am very good at it. cartoon over here

I did find an exercise that we all can do with minimum equipment. Skipping rope. Okay I have always sucked at this so I guess that's why I have never fully appreciated it's calorie burning potential. It burns 20-23 calories per minute So 15 minutes of skipping rope would burn off about 180 calories. It's also a known mood lifter and improves concentration. Granted, I’ll have to wait until spring and do it outside on the back patio or go to the gym because seriously this cheap flooring isn't going to hold up to me bouncing on it (and how can I embarrass myself if I'm in private...)

And here's a recipe for the non-cooks on my list (and for everyone else)

Deli Greek-Style pitas

¼ cup plain low-fat yogurt
2 tsp vinegar
1 tsp snipped fresh dill (or ¼ tsp dry dill)

½ tsp sugar
1 cup thinly sliced cucumber
½ small red onion halved and thinly sliced
½ chopped plum tomato
4 6-inch whole wheat or white pita
10 ounces thinly sliced deli turkey, chicken or roast beef

1. In a medium, bowl combine yogurt, vinegar, dill and sugar. Add in veggies and toss to coast.
2. 2. Cut the pita rounds in half, open and lie with deli meat of choice, spoon in cucumber mix. Makes 4 servings @ 275 calories per serving

If you're vegetarian consider sliced, roasted veggies.

That's a simple, tasty sounding recipe!

I'm off to physical therapy tomorrow since my leg is still bothering me. I'll be doing planks I suspect - great for the stomach and back.

2 more lbs for a total of 20 lbs lost.

walk in the pool! It'll offer more resistance than walking outdoors, but is still gentle. If your shoulder can handle any sort of pushing/arm strokes, maybe add those in. But at least moving around in the water will get the legs going.

there is no pool but otherwise i would. It turned out to b 40$ just to use Day's Inn's pool and they will not let us in the school pool without students. there is no faculty change room. so within a week naked pictures of me will be on the net and people i've faield will say i touched them in the pool (that happened to someone else last year) so...no pool or i'd be all over that but no i can't do arm strokes right now

I probably would.

I was doing jumping jacks before I got sick in December. I could go back to that and ignore the jump rope.

2lbs off, and I've started running properly (which is why you get to see enemy zumbaing).

Skipping rope sounds cool, but requires more co-ordination than I possess. I'd probably trip myself up in the first five turns.

yay for you. lack of coordination is also why I do not run. i fall a lot

well, I`ll see your plateau and raise you.... but I`m at least back to hanging in there and working out every day so I have to be positive about that, and hopefully my on and off willpower will come back..at least I`ve got the whining a little bit under control...
jumping rope hahahahah. apart from how very hard it is (even when I was running I could only do about 3 minutes) the boredom factor really got to me.

Mm... I have to say that the rosemary steaks from last week were very good. I found two packs of top round in the freezer that I think I got a couple weeks ago when I took Donna shopping. I think she paid for them too. I don't remember, but I do think that was the day she said "Oh I got that, don't worry about it." The steaks were each about half a pound, so I cut them both in half and have four actual serving sized steaks. I had mine with broccoli and green beans. I did n't eat the green beans... they were freezer burned and not yummy. The steak was very yummy.

On Friday, I started my day for the second day in a row under 150. Thursday I was at 149.6 and Friday I was at 149.0.

Then I went to Bri's birthday party at Flying Tiger Saturday, and ate all kinds of yummy Chinese food. Plus pot stickers and rangoons. Yes. That was definitely not induction worthy.

From there I went to Jimmy's Cornerstone Bar to meet a friend and his wife that I had not seen for several years, and to see some bands play too loud for a tiny venue. Criss bought me a couple pints of two different nice stouts. One of them, The Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, I know is only 11 grams of carbs/pint. the other I don't know. I wasn't able to find out what it was other than "An Irish Ale". which doesn't tell me much.

Sunday I went to Donna's and was fed stir fry and egg rolls. THe stir fry would have been fine, but I was also given a peanut butter oreo to try. 10 grams for one cookie. Egg Rolls, 10 grams per egg roll for the wrapper... the first one was sooooo good, that I couldn't help it. I had to have another. Still all in all, Sunday wasn't that far off base, and today I'm back on course. I weighed in at like 150.2 if I recall.

Tomorrow I may drop back below 150. I'm not stressing. I knew going into the weekend I was going to break induction and have to start over on it, but I also didn't gain 5 pounds in one day.

glad you liked the steaks.

yeah occasionally eating out should be forgiven and not worried about overly much.

good luck
