slow going
Mar. 14th, 2011 10:21 amI'm supposed to be leaving but man I feel like something that fell out the back end of a cow in a steaming pile. I forgot to mention yesterday I woke up at 3AM and again at 6 Am. This is nothing unusual being diabetic and having to pee all the time. At 6, I decided not to set the alarm since I'm usually up by 9 if I don't use one. I woke up at NOON! OMG I'm not sure when the last time that happened. Okay it was technically 11 but still. I slept 10 hours. Yikes
So naturally I couldn't go to sleep last night and a massive migraine started on top of it. At 2 AM I was dizzy and my stomach was growling. I got up (having not fallen asleep in spite of trying to meditate and relax). This is usually signs of low sugar. Not so this time so I went to bed, didn't eat.
I spent the rest of the night floating in and out of headache land, weird dream land and feed me valley. Woke up, took migraine meds, took sugar, it's well over 300. I should have ate. See, when we don't eat the liver converts glycogen (our stored sugar) into glucose (free to use sugar) and diabetics can't handle it. I must have truly been just that hungry. I can't leave with my sugar that high. It deadens my judgement for one and I won't drive far that way and it makes me insanely sleepy.
Took my insulin, shall wait a while and then worry about going home.
