Rising steam distorts the tree line just beyond the hot springs. Ling listens to the night birds singing under the watchful eye of one of his guards, not Lan Fan who had to get her automail adjusted. He misses her keenly.

Thinking of her, feeling that temporary lack of a true friend, Ling thinks about the past year. He will never meet anyone quite like the Elric brothers again, the soon-to-be emperor is sure of that. He misses them so much. Ed’s irreverence was one of the things Ling longs to hear again. Here, everyone is so diffident around him. Ed would tell him to shut the hell up and fear no repercussions. Alphonse would probably be politer but he brought a quiet strength to things that Ling would like to have at his side. He should have made his offer to make Winry a bride more believable. Ling misses her too, especially the way she dressed.

Sighing, he slips deeper into the water. At least they will come visit him from time to time. They promised. Ling wants to wrestle the hands of time and move them forward to that day.

Yin: as close as it gets to head concubine, I think? Has been with Ling for ages, quite cheeky as a result. Likes a laugh, is a bit of a confidante to Ling. Enjoys playing with his hair, putting him in drag, and penetrating him with various fun objects.

Chu-hua: great with languages. And oral. Enemy is funneh. XD Quite serious-faced, but secretly cheeky. Taught Ling the legendary worrying-but-fun teeth technique, which has benefited him ever since.

Lei: tiny, chirpy, sweet. Dancer. Very flexible. Likes Ling to top her.

Sook Joo: tiny, taciturn Korean Qiongyan dominatrix. Doesn't do sex as far as I know (although enemy is the arbiter), just BDSM. Has a surprisingly strong arm given her size. Was gifted to Ling after he annoyed a Qiongyan noble by being a cheeky little shit, although the 'revenge' backfired because he can't get enough of her.
