I'm trying to book the flight with mom's help (she used to do this for a business she worked for and likes it) Found a company Travel One, relatively cheap but I had to change airlines. All I wanted to do was find out if they would book thru my luggage because you're not always guaranteed that. Over 45 min on hold I get Alton, some ding dong in an Indian call center. We were actually yelling at each other by the end. ALL I wanted to know was would they book my luggage thru but foolishly i never got the flight # from mom. we had to look it up. He kept saying it didn't exist. I kept saying it did then every time I'd repeat the flight's airlines and stop overs he would says You NEVER told me that. Oh bullshit.

Then he said You told me American Airline. Buddy, no I didn't. US Air to Alaskan air. 'I repeated it to you 13 times.' No, you never ONCE mentioned an airline and does it matter? I told you which ones it was. He finds it like 5 seconds after that. But later we find out these people have nearly two hundred dollars in surcharges. Bite me. I can book it direct for less than that but it's more work. Fie. So no, no tickets.

Also I had to go get a book from the library, saw the new price of gas, nearly fainted at the wheel then hit wal-mart which was as expensive if not more so than Krogers so didn't buy hardly anything I had intented to Also they didn't even HAVE the products.

Came home cleaned all afternoon. It looks like I haven't even touched the living room. That should say something.

Surprise surprise it rained all day and it was COLD. It was March out there. I'm not sure anyone, not even me, likes cold AND damp.

Sugar is sky high, probably all the frigging stress (on a day off none the less)

I have to give two finals tomorrow. hold me.

But there IS good news. I got another Vgift story from [livejournal.com profile] seatbeltdrivein. It's historical Hohenheim. It's very good and darkly amusing. Go read and enjoy.

Also watch me turn into a 12 year old. I was looking through a series of book reviews and came across something that was obviously lost in translation. It's a series of Swedish mysteries (Nordic mysteries are becoming hot stuff) but the detective's name is Harry Hole. I'm sorry, it's probably NOT pronounced Hole in Sweden but OMG, I turned into a giggling adolescent

this is just upstream (ha) from the bridge. Notice the anchor point for the utility pole is no longer on dry land

Wheeee to the anchor line. Just wheeeee.

That strange yellow orb came back today and dried out some of the nice, sloshy water, and squidgy ground. I don't trust it.

Gas went up Friday here. I got it just before it rose.

Okay THAT is a scary picture!!!

Yup I know how it is to be aggravated, and annoyed beyond belief because people on the phone are NOT listening!

This is finals week for me as well, Algebra II....and the phone keeps ringing! What part of "I am studying for my algebra final" do they not understand??? This is frickin stressful people...leave me the hell alone until after tomorrow....THEN call me. By then I will have gotten through the final and over the process of the nervous breakdown. *lol*

I fully intend to pull some money from my itty bitty diminishing savings account, after the final is taken, and go out for a celebratory dinner at some nice place. I've earned it...I deserve it...and by damn I am going to have a nice dinner! I might even get drunk.

You happen to have an attic or something where you could put stuff up high?

*huggles* thank you hon....I'll let you know how I come out on it.

Every time I fill up my 15-gallon tank I pay $55 or more. Thank goodness I opted for a car with relatively good gas mileage.

Good luck with the creek.

I don't blame you for giggling. In my business, engineers use the acronym "LUST" for leaking underground storage tanks. I laughed my ass off the first time I read that an engineer inspected a LUST site. They had to convince me it was an accepted acronym in the industry.

I would've had to have been convinced of that, myself.

yeah my tank is smaller but around here I DRIVE a lot.

thanks

hahahaha I would need convincing too

OMG, I know about the rain. I froze my ass off on the drive home from work today. I actually had the car heater up full blast. Stupid weather. That creek is not looking good.

I can't imagine booking your tickets yourself could be any more work that trying to communicate with an idiot in India. o_O

I saw the Harry Hole novels on Amazon when I was browsing one time and nearly lost it like you did. Hee!

The price of gas is horrific. Where are all the outcries of White House collusion with the oil industry though? Inquiring minds want to know.

That creek is not and it is cold

no it can't be

Glad I'm not the only 12 year old. Harry Hole...

yeah I've wondered that

Argh to "customer service." I've had to yell at tech support, too, because they seem to think that anyone who calls knows absolutely NOTHING. "Yes, I DID shut everything down and turn it back on, YES, I know what I'm doing! I'm calling because there is a PROBLEM!!!"

BTW, I forgot to thank you for the tinfoil hat. Comes in handy, in Arizona. (As would the rain, actually. It's been dry as a bone in these parts. Perhaps even drier.)

H-Harry Hole... LOL WHAT

Booking airline tickets sounds heinous. I hate it when ANY company I'm on the phone with redirects me to some outsourced helpline, because it usually never works out and is just ridiculously frustrating. Better luck next time?

That sounds like a hell of a day off. But I am especially there about the gas prices. I'm sure up where you are, the prices are even higher, though.

I know I know Harry Hole. Now i have to find the book just because.

no, outsourcing rarely works out

it sucked as a day

Oh man, I used to work part time with Travel One outside of my hometown Odessa, Texas. Anyway they're not the best most top notch place ever. I'm so glad I only worked there for a few months before I found a better job where things were more organized.

The price of fuel is insane. Talk about price gouging.

Go you with the cleaning. It sounds like you were productive on your day off! And I'm still envious of all the rain you're getting. Our seven day forecast has zero moisture in it. We win at drought.

Good luck with the finals.

LOL I probably would have lost it too. Things like that are just too good not to laugh at. Fantastic.

That picture... so that's what water looks like. Huh.
