It's like living inside a mouth
Jun. 8th, 2011 09:55 pmIt was 95 in temp and humidity today. I had to cut short my trip to COlumbus. Granted I had to go up to the hospital to waste time doing stuff that could have been done here. I wasn't pleased to begin with but what can I do? Unless something goes awry with the bloodwork I'm cleared for surgery. They were worried because my veins were standing up like I was a bodybuilder trying out for Mr. Universe. But your blood pressure is fine. Yeah, i'm just HOT. Don't worry it won't affect healing much.I won't be outside.
I did go to the Happy Greek for lunch (had to pull a U turn on Broad street because there must have been a monstrous crash at broad and high because there were two fire trucks and pedestrains making a human wall). I did hit Trader Joe's and got carmelized onion dip (yum), green papaya salad (frozen) that reminded me a bit of coleslaw in texture to be honest but I liked it and paneer rolls with aachari (a red curry pickle relish). The cheese was wrapped around the aachari. The box said get Naan but I didn't. It meant it.It was mostly a red curry yogart sauce with four paneer rolls. There was a slight bitterness to the aacharibut overall I liked it. Also got a blueberry/vanilla goat cheese log that is yummy.
Hit B&N to find a late B-day gift for ELD then said screw it, I'm going home.I did stop at Lowes in Chillicothe to look for mint and some flowers. no mint i wanted, got bittermelon and flowers (none are marked down yet) within in 10 minutes the heat had me unable to breathe and nauseated (don't believe me, as ELD or silvrethorn about going to festivals with me. They'd leave me somewhere dead and circle back to prod the corpse so we could move on). It's about 10-15 degrees hotter than normal. Boston is supposed to be 100. THis heat wave can fuck off whence it came. At least we're not on fire like AZ and FL I suppose.
Soul is my best friend ever. He won't leave my side and wants to play (which mostly means savage my feet), Kanda loves me being home. This is the first time I've been off when he's been in the house. If you're on the couch you're going to hold him. He's also struggling to breathe in this heat, poor dude.
Since it was too big to get in one shot

Date: 2011-06-09 02:52 am (UTC)yes, that was the one thing I can say about hiking in Tucson area, at least it wasn't humid. My meat was cooking off the bone mind you

Date: 2011-06-09 04:04 am (UTC)Yeah, there's nothing like a big dose of heavy smoke to go with your 95 degrees and 95% humidity. We've got the whole package down here right now. Today was relatively nice, though, still roasting hot but smoke-free and remarkably non-humid. We'll get steamed some more tomorrow, though. I saw the temperature forecast for Columbus in the paper the last few days and wondered how you were holding up. Now I know. Poor, hot kitties. At least you don't have to take them down and get them clipped for the summer, like we do with Chablis because she's such a hair-ball. Hopefully she won't bite anyone this time when they shave her belly.

Date: 2011-06-09 04:20 am (UTC)Oh yes the smoke makes it extra special. I do not like this at all.
Kanda needs brushing.Soul barely even sheds. Yes, that is the downside to longer haired cats. good luck
Aw...

Date: 2011-06-09 02:04 pm (UTC)I've actually given thought to moving to places like Canada, Norway, Finland, Alaska just to get away from the heat (But I don't think I could stand the 22 hours of sunlight deal in some of those places)
