It kept me at the computer all day just playing around trying to keep from thinking. I remind myself that this is going to be a hard few months ahead of me and I should be a little worried. Also if I hadn't let the apt go to hell, I would have less to do now but oh well.

At least I got the clothes washed and the plants planted. Holy hell all the rain has made my garden INSANE. Did I mention I bought a tomato (heirloom) called Bradley? how could I resist. Wrath is now in his container. The only tomato I put in the ground looks like hell. The container ones look good. I miracle growed Newton the fig to give him some iron (thanks [livejournal.com profile] rahirah).

Mom will be here tomorrow. I have to go get her. It also means I can't go to a funeral for a former faculty member. She died of cancer this week. Sad since I liked her.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] silvrethorn reminded me I DO have the map to Craigdarroch Castle. Last night's picture was the drawing room.

Go check out all the cool Royai day stuff. (I'm trying to do up one more thing for that). Speaking of which, check out One Night at Madam Christmas’s [livejournal.com profile] bay115 wrote it for me for [livejournal.com profile] help_japan and it's Royai (thank you)

the neighbor's cat. Not sure his name. He just moved in. He hates Roy and wants in my house badly. He's very sweet otherwise

MOST of this isn't weeds for once. My perennials are now so big it's crazy. Oh there are two elm trees in there that need to die now and there are of course weeds but there are hollyhocks, foxgloves, tomato, hostas, lambs ears, wormwood, roses, day lilies, asiatic lilies, flaming spirea, st john's wort and stuff i can't even remember at this point

Your garden looks positively LUSH.

I thought animals weren't allowed in the bedroom. Hmmmmm. That's a change. XD

doesn't it? It's never looked this nice. the perenials are kicking the weeds ass for a change.

they aren't. I left the door open for circulation and that's where I found them.

Don't you love it when that happens?

Of course. Pewter's lying next to me now, with Vinnie behind me on the love seat.

Ha! I'm lucky that I'm allowed to sleep on the bed.

They look very serene - cats have no guilt.

BTW, we have our fingers and cat toes crossed for you. Small sacrifices will be made to Bast for you. I'm thinking a toy mousie and a spider or two!

hahaha see this is why they aren't allowed in there when I am and they're okay with that

cats know little about guilt and it's fleeting

thank you very much. those toys should do it nicely

Cats are allowed wherever cats want to be!

Pretty garden. I guess all that rain does some good, after all.

Lovely garden, pretty cats. :) I get maple trees sprouting in my gardens up here. I'm allergic to maple tree pollen. Ugh.

(((hugs))) and prayers that all goes well with the surgery.

I have to get a queen sized bed so I can sleep on it when the cats decide they both want to sleep with me. I have a feeling though that when it's cold, I'm still going to be squeezed between two fat asses. LOL

Hehe, your cats are cute. Reminds me a couple times when I would leave the door to my room open, be away for a bit, then come back only to see my cat sleeping on my bed. XD

Nice work with the garden! :D Looking quite good, there!

Thanks for the shout out to my fic! I enjoyed writing it a lot! :) Going to reply to your comment in a bit.

As others have said, your garden looks lush. I bet your neighbors are impressed/envious. If you stick the mitsuba in there, they'll add to the lushness--they love damp ground. My flower bed only looks good because I planted marigolds this year, and marigolds laugh at heat and drought.

Drawing room makes complete sense--it's a room for formal entertaining, and that room is definitely formal. Figuring out what Victorians used all those rooms for is going to be an ongoing challenge for the restorers. They lived so differently from us that it's hard to get an intuitive sense of how they used and furnished those rooms.

Silly cats. They know the best place in the house when they see it, and cats always go for the best place and make it theirs.

it rained a lot. themisuba is still in it's pot. I'm not sure anything kills marigolds

this is very true. I think they may have a few of the ladies diaries to help

so true about cats

Lubbers tried to eat my marigolds when they were small and newly-planted. That would definitely kill them. I've lost a few to cutworms in the past, too. Other than that, no, nothing kills marigolds. They're very rewarding, and once they start blooming they make you feel like a gardening genius :).

Your boys are beautiful! You're tougher with them than Helen, she lets Moro sleep on our bed (and hit Helen in the face at 3am when she's bored and wants attention - she has her owner well-trained). I love the neighbour's cat too, he's gorgeous. And I'm a sucker.
