a surprisingly bad day

It started good. I was doing well in therapy. I even started using free weights (okay 2 pounds but STILL). The tests went off without a hitch then suddenly my secretary is gone. I'm irritated. THe grading software is on HER computer.

I try to send a fax to the loan fucktards and the fax isn't working.

I go home irritated. My computer room smells like a fucking nursing home, the smell of piss so strong you get knocked over. I stamp barefoot all around the place, nothing is wet so that means he's going on my books, on or under my futon. I'm furious. I light some incnse and sit down with my flash.

You already heard that story. I'm more upset than I probably should be but dammit I'm on a fucking deadline and I just lost a couple thousand words and it was flowing so good this morning. You KNOW that I'll never get that back. I have NEVER had a flash drive suddenly decide it needs reformating and become a piece of fucking garbage before. Why the hell didn't I save it to my netbook too? Oh I know because this has never happened before.

I'm digging in the papers near my desk and smell poo. I thought that he must have pooped in the corner of the desk and I just disturbed it. I give up on that, fling my chair back to go see if the flash works in the netbook (no it doesn't) and realized Soul actually SHIT under my chair with me in it and I had just ran the stuff over. It's inside my task chair wheels and worked into the carpet. I can barely get it out of either place (and it's STILL staining the carpet. Three cleaners have not managed to loosen that up.

Mom starts yelling at me for still having Soul here. When have I had time to start calling around? I get pissed at her and hang up.

I'm still pissed. My garden hadn't been watered. Next time I pay this woman I want her to TELL me when she's going to stop so I can take back over.

I'm just fucking pissed off right now. THEN I get a call from work at 10 pm. WTF? my secretary has gone back to work. She went back and tried to run my test but the software is reading the wrong number of test questions. We're going to have to do this by hand. Also, I left the stuff I printed ON the fucking copier, as in stuff that shouldn't be out in public. WTF is wrong with me that I can't remember what I'm doing midstream?

Your experiences with lost writing and failed saves have made me so paranoid, I have copies of my manuscripts saved on everything. Flash drives, hard drives of both computers--if I still had floppy discs, I'd save on them for good measure. I'd also save on a second flash drive if I had one--though, oddly enough, my father gave me two flash drives that I had used before, but my computers now refuse to recognize them. Maybe they need, ta-da, formatting.

Your neighbor lady scares me. I'm wondering what color candle you burn to make people move away. Of course, if I knew that, my neighborhood would have a _lot_ of empty houses.

Here's hoping life gets better. I don't know why crap days happen, but it SUCKS when they do.

I could have easily saved it to the hard drive too but it was the netbook and otherwise useless but from now on it goes BOTH places. I'm still crying (and I mean that)

Bleh, there were times when I wrote something that I liked, only I forgot to back up the writing and lose it from whatever computer problems come in my way. Last year I ALMOST lost what I wrote for last year's FMA Big Bang when the computer's old video/graphic card failed. I thought it was a hard drive crash. D:

Oh god, really sorry you had such a crappy day. I have had a flash drive do that on me, but I always back up in multiple locations because I lost 50 pages once and I'm SOOO paranoid.
