Just knocked out three stories in three days. go me.

Speaking of fiction, drop in HERE. As part of the author's platform campaign thing I'm involved in via Jana's journal, we have challenges and this is the first. Flash fiction, set in my Riding With Strangers universe. Stop in and have a read (it's 200 words). You can follow the link to see others and you can even vote. Cat owners, ever think your felines have gone insane? I just went to put on the kettle and saw Soul standing on the couch, leaning over with both paws around Kanda's neck. I just kept walking.

I did talk to my dept. chair about starting a research project and asked for help since medical degrees almost never involve active research. I don't really know what I'm doing. He's going to help so I have to do a little footwork and lay out my ideas. I'm going to apply for one of the provost's grants. Wish me luck.

I did sign up for girlsavesboy and would love to see some of you do the same. I believe the min. word count is only 750 so that's not too bad. I'm between doing FMA again this year or maybe some Willow/Tara

probably only of interest to like 3 of us. I'm unsure as to why it looks like there is a glass dildo under the glass dome. I think it might actually be a shadow of some kind or the first homunculus has taken on a very interesting shape

It's a shadow, alas. There's nothing touching the base of the vacuum jar, so it can't be inside. I want to know what that moldy-looking thing inside the wooden frame on the left-hand edge of the photo is. The little microscope is cute. The fireplace in the background, on the other hand, is disturbingly pristine.

oh i can answer that. I tried to get a photo but it was too dark. It's a theatre built out of shells, like those tacky tourist things you see on a much larger scale.

that microscope is about 2 years older than the ones I use in lab, i swear.

yeah this was actually the Harmonists' museum. how much that fireplace was ever used prior to restoration I'm not sure

My three all got along wonderfully until I fed a feral (outside only, and mine are all indoor cats) last winter -- suddenly the dominant one of my three started going bonkers any time another cat comes up to the windows, and beating up the other two just for wanting to look out the windows at the other cats. I have yet to figure out what that is all about. Insecurity about food and dominance is all I can figure, but jeez. The one she's beating the crap out of the most is her own sister!
