So, my post office says they don't deliver packages. well they will if they think it'll fit in the box. So the idiots have 2 boxes for me today, one from Flippy and my needles. They get the needle box in the back (crushing my other mail) then shove in Flippys but they can't shut the mailbox so they rubber band it half closed, leaving one end sticking out in the rain. Luckily it was only misting. idiots

I also found out there was a mistake. I AM up for tenure review this year. HOLD ME! (also as pissy as work has been I have mixed feelings here)


Soul was doing so well no accidents for 2 days, he was saving it up. And Kanda has invented a new game. Anything small he can find, he brings it to the floor vent and drops it down. Twitch twitch. Where are those rose bushes??

And the head PT wants to not only retain me for 2 more weeks to bleed out ALL my pt but wants the surgeon to beg the insurance for more (i love that this was supposed to be 4-6 monts of PT but the insurance says fuck you). They did bump me up a theraband level so I am improving but she too was horrified at how tight all my muscles are.

Oh and that computer I killed last week. They resurrected it and I killed it again today (apparently it has a short in the system)

The fact that this skeleton has ears and a nose is creepy. And that kneecap hanging out into space makes my knees hurt to look at it.

At least with tenure, even if it is in a college in Armpit, Ohio, the position will be yours unless/until you decide to give it up instead of leaving you at the whim of the administration. The way things are going, you're lucky to have the option of tenure, and you may be among the last generation of college professors to get it.

Don't know what to say about Soul. I always suspected that Dickens dropped his first collar down an air vent, since I didn't even find it when I moved.

Better than an article Lee read, though, where owners of an indoor/outdoor tiger discover that it has been peeing down the heating vents all summer when they turn the heat on in the winter. Eep!

YAY for tenure track! Agreed with everything silvrethorn said about it, too.

I keep thinking that new piece of science art is illuminated by an alien death ray or something, the skeleton looks like it's saying, "TOO BRIGHT, TOO BRIII-*gurgle wheeze die*"

You reminded me of the time When I was working with a hand surgeon and called the insurance company to request an extension. They only covered 6 weeks. "I appreciate that you generally only allow six weeks, but the well-documented recovery period is twelve weeks, and I really can't require that the patient heal twice as fast as any other human being because you only allow that. Yes, I will send copies of those studies."
