thanks for nothing brain
Sep. 14th, 2011 11:38 amSo this morning I slept 6 hours before trotting off to the bathroom (ah diabetes) but that was still and hour and a half before my alarm so I went back to bed and my brain did this to me.
I thought the alarm had gone off and I went to turn it off but I couldn't move. Slowly out of the mattress a pair of disembodied arms wrapped around me pinning me against something hard. I could hear his voice in my head, laughing at me but i still couldn't move. He kept saying all the nasty things he'd do if he didn't get what he wanted from whomever he was holding me hostage for.
Eventually I got a little bored waiting on him and thought this had to be a dream. After that, I 'woke up' to find out I massively overslept but when i got up I noticed no clock had the same time. Even the tv guide via dish had a different time every time I checked. I was asking mom to call work for me and tell them I was sick but I was upset because I had a very important meeting today (I do).
Then I really did wake up. Sleep paralysis? thanks brain.

Date: 2011-09-14 09:26 pm (UTC)I've been taking some local romanian tea to help me sleep at night due to stress at work and I've been having some wild dreams which normally i don't. Bought it at the farmers market, i suppose i really should have somebody translate the instructions.

Date: 2011-09-14 09:57 pm (UTC)I had one the other night where my gray tabbie, Gracie, horked up a live frog, then continued horking and started actually turning herself inside out. I forced myself to wake up before it got totally unbearable (I can take almost anything BUT something happening to my cats.)
Since I mostly fail at lucid dreaming as a way to change them, I'm working on learning how to make myself wake up as a way of gaining control over the bad dreams - sometimes it works, sometimes not - but sometimes is better than having to endure all of them to the bitter end. Even my neutral dreams are very odd, and my happy ones can be really funny - I've also woken myself up laughing.
Sometimes I think I lead a more active and varied life in my five hours of sleep a night than I do in my waking life....
