Nothing deep this time. I need to get back to writing my Vacation in Victoria story. I'm not even including it in the word counts below since I didn't touch it all week. I did of course get that flash fic done if you'd like to read and vote for it (see yesterday's post). I am also doing that Rule of Three challenge. It sounded exciting and let's face it with a cap of 500 words that won't take me even an hour to get a rough draft every week.

So I promised character reaction sheets and I finally got them done. Back in the days of Elfquest where all of fandom had original characters these were used for artists/writers to interact in the shared world. THey'll be familiar to evil_little_dog and many others on my flist whom I've known since the 80's. It's going on 30 years I've known some of them so don't let people tell you fanfiction/fan art is a waste. You can make some really cool friendships, let me tell you.

But I digress. Here are the two love interests from my never going to get finished at this rate erotic mystery Riding with Strangers


Character Sheet

NAME: Hikaru Tetsu
BORN: @ 1900
AGE: just over 100 years, looks in his early 20’s BIRTHPLACE: Japan

FAMILY INFO:
FATHER: unknown
MOTHER: currently unnamed
SIBLINGS: probably so far none that have made their way into the story or into my awareness
CHILDREN: none
RELATIONSHIP: Bisexual, is engaged to Lily, another dragon, has fallen in love with Liam Savage. He has several other entanglements at the beginning of the novel.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTON:
HEIGHT: 5’6” WEIGHT: 145 lbs
EYES: dark brown
HAIR: raven
STYLE: shaggy, razor cut look, shoulder length
SKINTONE: fair
BUILD: he’s wiry
MARKS/SCARS: he has occasional patches of dry skin. In dragon form, his scales are a pale blue opalescence.
NOTABLE FEATURES: in human form, he’s very androgynous. In dragon form, he has long curling horns arching back over his head.
VOICE: has the same androgynous quality as his face
ACCENT: definite Japanese accent.

PERSONAL INFORMATION:
OCCUPATION: currently a conservation biology graduate student but has been many things over the decades
HOBBIES: TBA, see this would be good to know, gives him depth. I do know he collects comic books/manga and goes to steampunk meetings with Lily
HABITS: boy something else to TBA
CLOTHING WORN: in the field, cargo pants or shorts, t-shirts. Overall, he’s a casual dresser but he does have high end dress clothes. He does wear flashy clubbing clothes when appropriate and has a couple of steampunk outfits
JEWELRY: occasionally wears a necklace or a ring. Not that big into jewelry
VEHICLE: I need to go look this up. I think it’s a Honda or a Mazda
PETS: none
MAGICAL ABILITIES (if any): he’s a dragon so he does shift shapes. He can breathe underwater. He has an Asian dragon form.

PERSONALITY/HISTORY – He’s in the middle of dragon puberty which has him in sexual high gear. He’s always on the look out for more lovers

FAMILY INFO:
FATHER: not sure if he’s still alive
MOTHER: currently unnamed
SIBLINGS: Caitlyn, sister, there could be a brother, not sure yet
CHILDREN: none
RELATIONSHIP: homosexual, hasn’t had a lover in a while, is drawn to Hikaru

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTON:
HEIGHT: 5’10” WEIGHT: 175 lbs
EYES: blue
HAIR: blond
STYLE: close cropped
SKINTONE: pale with some freckling
BUILD: muscular
MARKS/SCARS: I suspect he has one non-visible Marines based tattoo, probably has a scar or two from the war, need to think on it.
NOTABLE FEATURES: none really, he’s good looking but overall sort of average
VOICE: deeper than expected
ACCENT: has a flat Wisconsin accent (not the Scandinavian style you can also hear there)

PERSONAL INFORMATION:
OCCUPATION: homicide detective, former Marine (though he’ll tell you there is no such thing)
HOBBIES: TBA, collects comic books, likes to barbeque, likes to play in pick-up football games, enjoys boating/fishing, probably a closet D&D’er
HABITS: boy something else to TBA
CLOTHING WORN: at work, suits (or at least trousers, shirt and tie), casual at home. Has a collection of T-shirts with geeky sayings. Has not succumbed to his partner, Tobias’s love of Hawaiian shirts not matter how hard Tobias tries.
JEWELRY: usually nothing
VEHICLE: I need to go look this up.
PETS: none
MAGICAL ABILITIES (if any): say what? Outside of Harry Potter, he doesn’t think this exists, until of course he learns he’s sleeping with a dragon

PERSONALITY/HISTORY – He’s a very private person. Between the Marines and the police force, he’s chosen two fields that aren’t all that accepting of his sexual orientation so Liam is very closed mouth about it. Tobias knows but that’s about it. Liam is very diligent and serious minded. He’s mortified by his irresistible attraction to a murder suspect through much of Riding with Strangers. Professionalism means a lot to Liam.


And the other thing I've accomplished is to decide on what novel I'm going to write. I'm 90% sure it's the Living Goddess one. People seemed to want to see that over the demon hunters and having someone cheer you on when they get what they're interested in is a help (well when you have an ego like mine) So I've done up a list of characters (and I asked a question about the names of the living goddess last night if anyone cares to weigh in) along with an outline. Let me know what you think.

Tasiana Characters

*Savaria Archana – ‘living goddess’, healing magic

*Ethon Drake – need to find a military ranking system I like, high ranking fire mage, son of a potter and temple gardener, 29 and not too thrilled with the idea of being 30. (yeah not sure where that just came from)

*Charis Blackwood – Princess who believes to serve her country she needs to serve in its military. Has masking magic

Rafnin Blackwood – King of Tasian, Charis’s father, the mad king who ordered the slaughter of the Yaarians.

Elin Blackwood – Princess, Charis’s youngest sister, functioning as a spy within the castle.

Kai Blackwood – Prince, eldest son, should have been king but was killed in an accident that probably wasn’t an accident

Izire Blackwood – Prince, middle child, as mad for power as his father, actively plotting to wipe out all the Yaarian and the goddesses who could threaten his power. Wants Drake dead.

Jalehi Blackwood – Queen, mother of the abovementioned princes and princesses

Neifion Butcher – the youngest of Ethon’s men, mostly functions as the company clerk/communications officer

Viho Benbow – one of Ethon’s men since after the war

Kerensa Whittemore– she’s one of Ethon’s men during the war and after, tactician

Taavi Rey– wealthy halfbreed, cousin to Ethon, loves his bombs. Thinks Paivi is cute.

OUTLINE

1 Needs to get to Ethon’s home and contact the newspaper to scuttle the rumors he killed the living goddess

2. Savaria tells same reporter that she’s appointed Ethon her guardian and they’re going to save the rest of the living goddesses

3. go to Ethon’s home town to do just that.

4. hook up with Ethon’s uncle, another Yaarian rebel

5. return to Sverre’s hometown to try and rouse them to action

6. this is where it stalls
