I swear I heard that the committee I volunteered for was about retirement (as in honoring them as they leave) but no it's about retirement planning. Okay a) i loathe finances b) i know nothing about finances c) it's a highly contentious committee and that makes me more anxious than i can say. I sat around at the meeting being bored listening to the actuarians we were interviewing talking (and some of us trading jibs). At one point I think I was so bored that I slipped through time. I swore I could hear a pow wow. No lie. I have no idea what that is about. I think this is going to be a big mistake.

my sugar has been freaking out it was 107 when i went to bed, today it was nearly 400 then fell to 160. It's making me feel like crap and in the middle of that meeting my arm went into a spasm. Okay next time I'm up there seeing the surgeon i'm going to make him actually TOUCH me. feel this. is this right? what the hell are these lumps under my skin. some of those lumps were knots since i did get them to relax. this typing on a lap top is murdering me. explain the attraction people have for these things beyond the portablity?

today's snippet Smoke hung in the air, thick and acrid. She tried not to think about it. It was easier to remain numb. She didn't really know what else to do other than to let Drake take control. Archana had never been in charge of her own life. Within the temple, life was simple enough. She knew what to do. It was a routine that rarely varied.

Now that was gone and if she let the numbness slip, there was only uncertainty and fear waiting for her. Drake and Blackwood knew this world where she did not. Archana knew she had to trust them and the one thing she could do for them was not let the reporters know she was afraid.

Ugh, finances. UGH.

Slipping through time might not be so bad. Hopefully, that pounding you heard wasn't your heart going 'bom bom bom'.

Your sugar thing, very scary.

I like that snippet, too.

uber ugh

it was only my heart if it learned to do the chanting too

very

thanks. i'm trying to show a rather quiet courage on her part by illustrating she has been very isolated and yet keeps going now that that safe harbor is gone

I don't know how your body handles those sugar surges and plunges. That's got to be hard on your system.

I can't type on my laptop without a pillow under my right elbow. Letting my arm hang out in space while I typed was stretching something in my shoulder, which was very painful. I don't know where you're using your netbook, but if you're not supporting your arms, that could be a problem.

What on earth is making your shoulder tie itself in knots? That can't be normal.

it's very hard on me.

no real support and the couch is broken too so no help there

i have no idea. that damn surgeon is going to touch it and tell me what it feels like to him or i'm throwing a wobbly in his office.

I'm not surprised a boring meeting could make you slip through time. It would be more handy if it could make you slip through space as well. Nothing knocks me out faster than boring financial details...which is why I can never afford to retire. Maybe the meetings will be like those "learn while you sleep" tapes.

I like my laptop, but I have it on a desk with a support so it's lifted a bit and angled toward me. I don't type on it for long, tho'.

Ah, a netbook or webbook is another matter! The keyboards are very small. I have a large laptop with an extawide screen.

I have a netbook, but also a full-size wireless keyboard. Actually a full-size ergonomic keyboard with the curve and the raised center because the tiny keyboard was too small for doing a lot of typing. And a wireless mouse. Wired would work as well. Then you only use the laptop keyboard when you're away from home.

well since I never planned on using this for anything OTHER than traveling I find myself ill prepared for this. I do have a wireless mouse but 90% of the time it refuses to talk to the USB (and now I will have to remove one thing in order to put it into the damn netbook. keeping in mind i need one port for the internet...oh right)

maybe i'll shove my keyboard into it and see what happens
