My aunt has passed

She finally died this morning. It's a relief in so many ways. She was literally starving to death at the end.

Thanks to all of you for your support over the last few weeks. I've appreciated it. That's the type of stuff that makes me not really care much about LJ's changes (and that makes Yahoo, LJ, Twitter and FB who have done massive changes in the last 2 months.) I'm here for you guys. NOT what the design of the journal looks like.

In a way I too am relieved the poor woman has finally passed over. But it is also quite sad when a friend loses a family member.

Sorry to hear that. My aunt died similarly, in that she just refused food until she faded away. It was very heart-breaking for my mom, who still feels the urge to pick up the phone and share things with her sister only her sister would "get."

Sorry to hear you aunt passed away. At least she's not suffering anymore and finally resting at peace. My thoughts are on you and your family.

And yeahhhhh I don't care too much over the design of a social media site unless it's hard for me to be able to communicate. As long as I can still easily post something I'm good.

My dad went through a spell like that where he couldn't swallow, so the only alternative was to feed him intravenously, which as you know, is at best a stop-gap measure. And he *wanted* to eat, he was practically begging for food. We were so frightened for him.

Then my sister the nurse who was estranged from the family showed up in town and started feeding him small ice chips to get his swallowing reflex back. It worked and he was able to eat soft foods.

My sister went back to being estranged after that, and my dad only lasted another few months, but at least we got those months.

I'm glad she's finally at peace. My condolences to you and all the people who loved your aunt.

I stay at LJ for the people, even though it IS being very annoying. (That's why I just use standard layouts... it's easier.)
