Well DW ate my first post so I’m trying this again. I keep running across some difficulty with these but this time it’s not my poor memory. It’s that my fandoms are getting old and smaller by the day.
I do however have a few recs, all on livejournal. I do very much like
fma_fic_contest. It’s had several moderators but
bay_alexison and
a_big_apple have been running it for years. It’s a weekly writing contest for
Fullmetal Alchemist and it’s writer/reader voted on. It’s fun and with many of them having low word counts which help hone your craft especially in making words count. They also have to find banner makers. It’s a lot of fun. And most of the people in the community contribute a lot to keeping the fandom alive.
I should also recc
fmabigbang.
enemytosleep ran it for years and this year
catw00man &
zippitgood are at the helm. It can’t be an easy community to run because you have to match artists with writers and keep people motivating toward those big word counts. I’m afraid I’ll fail at it this year because of pro obligations.
Lastly it I need to include
open_on_sunday. It’s not as active as it once was (think about how long Buffy and Angel have been off the air). It’s a drabble community for BtVS/AtS and it must be a 100 word drabble. Right now
leni_ba has stepped in to take over putting up the prompts. I don’t write for it as much as I once did.
While it’s also waning as fandom moves to another forum I’m a little too busy to follow, but
fanfic_bakeoff run by
vexed_wench. It’s multi-fandom and a fun prompt community.
As for individual authors adding to the library of fiction check out
