some people eat when they're stressed

I have no idea how they do it. Tomorrow I turn in my tenure package. I'm 95% sure I'll get tenure (I'm better equipped than my nemesis and she got it 2 years ago). I'm still NERVOUS (I mean to not be would be arrogant). I'm stressed. I've had soup, oranges and bacon and eggs at the start of the day. I can't eat. Stress should make me skinnier than I am.

My tenure interview is the 26th. I had a doctor's appt then (naturally) for my stomach. One I've already rescheduled 3 times. I've moved it to the 2nd. By then I'll need it.

Before I get too much further into today's whining I wanted to share this link with my fellow authors, poets AND artists on the list. Icarus Anthology, it's looking for work. You have til august. Naturally being for charity (Doctors without Borders which is very important to me) I have an idea already, loosely based on a my life (turned to 11).

I owed the kitties. I swept the floor and you know how well Hoovers are taken. Then I didn't remember that the particular version of Tchiakovsky's 1812 Overture had cannon fire in it. Yeah that went over well. Not to mention I've been ignoring them for over a week. I spread catnip out. I have 3 high cats draped over the couch.

I finished my picfor1000 AND got all the lecture notes ready for unit one minus the student's version so at least I have like a week to work on the big bang. sigh. I really could remove all of ch 4 & 5 but I'll soldier on...hopefully.

I've been having timeouts with AO3 also.

It's easy but try to let go of your stress. There's nothing you can do at this point.

Good luck wit the tenure stuffs! I'm a stress eater. I can't explain it ... it seems like more of a distraction and sugar/endorphin-type relief than anything else. I do try not to do it (I never used to be so bad about this until I quit smoking, which was like 5 years ago now?). Guess who used to smoke when she was stressed? T_T

AO3 has been fine for me all tonight.

smoking while stressed I can see. Eating is odd but I have several stress eaters on my flist that I know of. I guess I'm just as glad I don't do that with as often as I'm stressed

It's like "Arrrgh! I'm so stressed. Let me do something with my hands and zone out and wallow." All while shoving cookies n my face? Like I said, I don't remember ever doing that until after I quit smoking, like my subconscious is trying to fill a vice as best it can.

that wouldn't surprise me at all. I take my stress out on my stomach (hence the need to go back to the gastroenterologist again) so food just makes me queasy thinking about it. I DO drink more tea/coffee though

Three of the four cats act loopy on the 'Nip. The other one gets mean and smacks one of the other around. Usually the two boys, Smudge and Cyrano will roll around in it on the floor and the smack at each other because they're hogging all the nip maaaaaaaaaan.
