It's snowing flower petals

Which looked very pretty. I wanted to start out with something nice since the rest of the day was...well my usual.

I had to go to the dentist for 2 issues
1. My TMJ is acting up since nov. as in sometimes you can't even touch my left ear it hurts so much
2. Thanks to the diabetes and being middle aged the gum around one molar (also on the left) has receded and you can see the root. This has been a problem for years but lately it has gotten so bad the pain is intense and I could feel the hot/cold fluids going under it.

and 3 my dentist moved (I knew that. I went to see him today in his new place) and just about when it was time for me to see him last year I was getting ready to go to Canada then the surgery and suddenly i'm a year out from seeing the dentist. Oops.

He palpated the TMJ and said wow, this is completely out of the socket, filled with crepitus (i.e. arthritis and/or inflammatory tissues) and your face is swollen all the way down to your neck. (SEE? I TOLD you so Mom and yuo said I was nuts). He's getting me a better than the OTC bite guards.

And there's a new procedure other than skin grafting to fix the exposed root. He numbed up my teeth and started shaving parts of it off (but the tooth didn't take just the soft tissue but eh, it wasn't going to last long so I didn't care) Once it was roughed up he basically glued this piece of amalagm to it and cooked it into place to cover the gap. Looks natural. Now my whole face hurts and all the jerking on my neck put all of that into a spasm but I know/hope this tooth pain will be gone within a few days

They also had a cancellation so I got my teeth cleaned too. Two more cavities. I'm not that upset. My mother's side of the family has a genetic freakshow where no one has good enamel. My teeth are porous enough they could be discolored by Koolaid.

Then I went to work. Worked out. My sugar jumped up fifty points to over 300 so I feel like hell. Even after twice my daily insulin it's still that high. Bite me, body.

I did get a lot of work done. Went to a seminar. Got the better part of 2 tests done and one lecture.

I even read through several stories to try and find my Remix. Hmmm, I like her stuff but this is where pairings become my enemy. Many of hers are pairings I don't like or ditto characters. However, all the stories I read were good and I'll be reccing them once the remix is up and reveals done. My sadness comes from the part that the ones I liked the best do not lend themselves well to remixing. However, I think I have the one I want to do.

I started mulling over the female protagonist YA in my head. Do I want to do urban fantasy here? dystopia? pure fantasy? I'm thinking the latter but I already know more about her male compatriot than her. Headdesk.

Damn that sugar! Stupid body indeed. A friend and I were talking on facebook about how weight loss surgery as a cure for diabetes/chronic hypertension should definitely be covered by insurance, they have proof that it can reverse diabetes but still call it unnecessary surgery. Would you ever consider it? I'd do it in a heartbeat.

and omg the teeth!!! My genetics has horrible teeth too, in fact I have cavities in between all my teeth and my molars are a soda away from disintegrating I'm sure. It will take $5000 to fix my teeth, and that's either pulling them all and getting dentures or patching them up.

And it's snowing flower petals in my yard too :) So pretty, and the lilac bush is just about ready to bloom! so many flowers everywhere! *dances*

It IS covered for things like diabetes and at the moment no since I can honestly say i have NOT done everything in my power to lose weight on my own.

ick. Mom and her siblings all had theirs pulled in h.s. thanks to this. My mouth is nothing but fillings and crowns.

and tonight it's supposed to be 28 which is going to make things interesting for plants

Eww to your teeth, but at least they have that new thing going on, that sounds very cool.

I'm so glad I got Mom's teeth, as opposed to Dad's.

I'm so excited I'm done with my Remix. :D

Owie. At least you were able to get it all done before it got any worse. So that's a good thing. Hope the pain goes away for you.
