Like we need that. Gah.

Today was dull. I spent every waking hour putting in grades but it's done. thank god. Came home trimmed the cats' nails. Whoa nelly will the excitment never end?

When Dad's not being a jackass he can be funny. His comment to the latest round of houses I sent: You keep looking at places like these and I'm going to see your picture on the side of a milk carton! (I'll post the houses up tomorrow, trying to edit something tonight).

So instead of my boring life, here's my dream. It started with [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog and I somewhere in this large abandoned building (I think a school) and we were trying to turn it into a haunted house. It came out well and the props we were given were neat because they were double sided. The one I remember were angel wings on one side and blue demons on the other.

Then somehow two high school friends, RH & FH show up and we're on some kind of reality show with all this haunted house thing and they're thrilled I did such a good job in making it but I have to do the physical stuff now and I'm not pleased. Somehow I broke my eye tooth and blood was everywhere and the competitors were thrilled, laughing at me thinking the pain would set me out. No way. I had to scale this thing I made. I had put in all sorts of trick hand holds and sliding things to make it easier on myself. But i'm a fat ass so I needed help. I got myself an electric blue anvil to stand on and I did make it up to the top in a tie so they let me go on to the next round but then I woke up. God knows what it means.

Unlike a chunk of my flist who I know love Sherlock/John, ever since I was a kid, I have loved only one person for Sherlock, if he had to have anyone (I'm with Moriarty and his idea that Sherlock is The Virgin and utterly uninterested in sex), it was The Woman. Irene Adler is hands down one of my favorite Sherlockian character.

I have to say I loved what they did with her. Or mostly I sort of want to live her life or at least, get that delightful crop. While a bit confusing at times, I really enjoyed the episode and the way that Irene played off of Sherlock and his growing obsession with her (also I liked Mycroft's solution to the plane issue).

What I didn't like was the overuse of the words written on the screen mostly because they were too tiny to freaking read and went too fast so I felt like I was missing something). And the times when they have him showing off how fast his mind is by speaking so fast it's unintelligble.

What I liked: Cumberbatch's naked ass. nuff said

I need Sherlock/Irene icons...

I hurt my bad arm today :-( my whole shoulders/neck as in a spasm.

Adopt one today! Adopt one today!Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

...Little blue anvil? Is that like Lavi's hammer?

Alas, again, working, so I missed Sherlock.

Electric...blue...anvil. Of course. Anvils are so often electric blue.

I think the all the writing on the screen was because half the dialog was in the form of text messages. They didn't need to get so "creative" with the text, though. If you're going to have the letters snaking around on the screen, you clueless gits, leave them there a little longer so your viewers' eyeballs can get a chance to chase them down and read them.

My favorite conversational exchange so far, and that includes last season, too:

Holmes: "Didn't you hear me tell you to hit me?"

Watson: "I hear that every time you open your mouth, but usually only in subtext."

Unlike the visual designers who came up with the "text messages," the dialog writers are really, really sharp. I'm going to have to buy that series.

yes, I know. And I can always move an anvil on my own like it was nothing.

THIS! God, yes.

that was hysterical. I loved that and you're very right about the dialog

I so agree about the dialogue! Sunday was only the second episode of Sherlock I've ever seen (the Buffalo-Toronto PBS station played the season 1 finale the week before, which finally got me hooked).

The little asides that John throws around are the most brilliant thing ever.
