Highs and Lows
Apr. 14th, 2004 11:00 pmWhat an odd day. I ended up not having to do a Western blot today, which means no lab write up which means more time to work on my thesis. So yea. And my lab notebook's deadline was extended, further yea. Then I go to my thesis advisor and find out he hasn't done my edits. Pretty hard to finish this by Friday without them so there drops out the bottom. Now I'm bummed.
Not sleeping because that's not something I do anyhow so I drag through work, too tired to work on the lab note book when I get home so I fiddle with my thesis' reference section because I haven't gotten that done so at least I feel accomplished.
Then the big thing hits. For the first time in two years of sending out resumes I actually get a phone interview for a job teaching at a college. The interview is Friday (thanks for the one day notice!) I have no idea what to expect but I'm kinda glad I had to rewrite that pedagogy paper three times because I have the lingo burned into my mushy brain. THe bad part, the college is in Jacksonville. I promised myself I wouldn't care where I teach just until I get the experience to go after jobs I really want. I meant that or else I would never have applied for a job in Florida. I mean I want OUT of this state in the worst way. But still, it would be a great beginning job. Wish me luck.
