So I tried luminosity
Jun. 8th, 2012 10:22 pmIf you haven't seen the ads it's supposed to use neuroplasticity to improve brain function (which is not a bad thing, that's how it's supposed to work) I knew I had to pay for it (not gonna happen) but I took the free trial just to see. Let's face it. I feel like my mind is getting SO SLOW as I get older. I scored in the 95% on everything and over that in most of them. The only thing that I got an actual 95% was raindrops which had each rain drop with a math problem in it and you had to solve it before it hit the puddle. I can't divide any more.
I had two thoughts. 1) I'm not paying 14$/month if i'm already in the 95% range b) I'm in the top percentile??? Either I'm way smarter than I think I am or people are way stupider (which would explain my students)
Ran to Jackson because I didn't feel like cooking, had a gift card to LaRosa's pizza I forgot to use when mom was here and I wanted to get the Illustrated Man from the library. I couldn't figure out the difference between the 4 veggie pizza (green olives, mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes with their red sauce) and the florentine foccaccia (same veggies but supposedly a garlic/butter sauce according to the webside) because every time I've gotten the florentine it had red sauce so when I call it up (it's a chain with a 1800 number) I ask and tell them it's always red sauce. Operator - that is NOT right. Well you tell them that when you place the order. He must have since it was right.
And what is up with the Wal-mart bathroom (Yes I was desperate). There was shit literally smeared all over the bottom of the bowl of one of them, like someone was finger painting all the way to the floor. And there was a bottle of shampoo in the sink.
ES sent me this. Lost snippet of Dr. Who It's cool.

Date: 2012-06-09 05:44 am (UTC)Fearing also for the rapidly declining state of my brain, I also looked at Luminosity, but I wasn't intrigued enough to give them my credit card number (especially given the number of times after those "free trial" things where I have ended up pissed off on a customer service line disputing some huge charge on my bill!) Instead I found some very similar FREE apps for my kindle, and just have been playing with those instead.
