Or hope I have. I don't have much trust in a service called cheapo air. I missed out on a few cheap flights but this is with United Airlines (okay not my favorite but one competitor wanted FOUR GRAND for the same freaking flight)only i just now opened my email to find out they CHANGED the flight already. I'm going to scream.I have no luck with air travel. NONE. And they just told me the fares are guaranteed until tickets are issued. I swear to god if I can't drive there I'm not going.

UGH. THis is why I'm starting to hate traveling.I used to love it so much. In THEORY I'll be in the UK from June 28th to July 5th. If I moved it to July 6th, it was a 1000$ more on the air fare. god knows why.

[livejournal.com profile] scribesds gave me a handy link for the weather. So cold and rainy. Granted it's 2 weeks to go.I'm hoping the 15-18 C temps stay but the rain goes the hell away. Everything I'm doing is outside (so it'll pour). She also wanted to know where I was going.

Highest Priority sites - Pentre Ifan burial chamber, Carreg Coetan Arthur, Gors Fawr Tinkinswood and St Lythan’s burial chamber, Craig Y Nos Castle (not sure what the secret stone circle is Swansea Valley that’s on the website with this castle but that sounds promising), Garn Wnda burial chamber, Carreg Samson Abercastle, Parc le Breos, Barclodiad y Gwres, Bryn Celli Ddu and Llanfedell Standing stone and Druid’s Circle in Gwynedd. I hope to see most of this.

I'll have a day or two in london and while I'd like to get out to Stonehedge but that's probably not going to be possible. There are so many things in London I'd like to see, i wouldn't know where to start. Technically I'd like to see Highgate (but then will have to deal with you went half way around the world to go to a cemetery...). So The Tower of London, not the crown jewels per se. I want to see the more notorious bits. Also I would like to do something like this ghost walk. or THIS ghost walk (with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] geeky_ramblings

provided i get there without murdering someone first.

In better news, Happy Anniversary mom and dad. 47 years without killing each other! They went to their favorite chinese place and then to see THe Avengers

You can mention my book/link to the Amazon link if you want. I am waiting, waiting, waiting for it to get distributed to Nook and Apple, and have not yet finalized the print version, which is why I haven't pimped it on my LJ yet.

So if you do any general pimping of my book in any outlets you have, it'd be nice to wait until I have other formats than Kindle available to folks.

I would rather see it pimped than not pimped, so go ahead and mention it.

I was just going to suggest that I take you round Highgate! The cemetery tour is great, and run by a very eccentric, very formidable old lady who makes you leave your mobile phone in a tray in her office. Two of my favourite London pubs are there too, the Flask and the Spaniard's Inn. The latter is a sixteenth century coaching inn that's allegedly haunted, and definitely has very good ale on tap.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for good weather! But the pub will be good even in if it rains. Here's their website (http://www.thespaniardshampstead.co.uk/).

Any idea which end of your trip you'll be in London for, or will you know after you've sorted the Wales tour?

I had a look at the sites you mentioned, and wow, don’t they look impressive? I don’t know anything about them myself but I’d love to hear how you got on with them.

I have been to see Stonehenge but I was so disappointed. It’s probably Engand’s best known ancient monument, but at the time we went it was fenced off to the public and all you can do is walk round the outside of it. I’ve heard there are certain times nowadays you can get in, but I believe they are limited. We found Avebury much more impressive.

Where are you going to stay in London? What other stuff are you going to see there? I know London a bit better than Wales – let me know if you need to know anything and I’ll try and help.

How are you travelling from Wales to London? If you are going by train, can I suggest you try and buy the tickets in advance of your journey? Its usually cheaper doing that.

they should be very interesting I hope.

Yes, that's one reason I'm not too disappointed I won't make it out there. If i could have come a week earlier I could have gone for the service for the solsitice which they do allow you in.

I'm staying with a friend in London. I do not know yet exactly what I'll be seeing doing but it looks like i'll have the 3rd of July to myself in the city.

train b ut I don't know where i'm leaving from. The tour guide is supposed to arrange that.
