Wasted Day

I feel like crap. Not sure if its pain killer related, migraine related or random flu-like symptoms. Woke up way too early in the morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I was mildly nauseated and had a killer migraine. Then I hear that a huge storm is heading my way. Oh shit. I need to wash clothes and get more food and some books (because I'll be damned if I'm snowed in with my meager supply of books). I don't take the narcotic because I have to drive. I don't take the migraine pill because it also contains tylenol (too much tylenol is BAD for you) So I got out and find that those few inches it snowed yesterday was the light fluffy stuff. I can shovel this. I do. Promptly step in a hole with my bad foot, twist it more. Thank god for boots. I see for once they've plowed my drive OUT instead of in so now I'm not trying to thread the needle's eye getting in and out of the frozen mountains of snow.

I get to the library and to the laundromat thinking I'll dry the clothes there too (I have a dryer in the basement with the steps from hell leading to it) so I won't have to stair walk. I get there and find out my laundry soap which was in the car froze solid...sigh. I get progressively sicker as the clothes wash. I rule out the narcs leaving migraine and/or flu (I did throw up the night before taking the narcs too after all). I opted out of the hour's long dryer wait, drive through the car wash to get the salt off the car, get some shopping done. By the time I get home, I'm too sick to even eat soup. I figure i haven't taken a narcotic yet so I can take my migraine pills and go to bed. ELD will tell you I don't nap. If I'm in bed in the day you know I'm sick as a dog. I still don't feel much better. Made homemade soup. It smells bad like the water was over dosed with chemicals. SIgh. It probably was...naturally. I have well water that's super high in iron. Tasted like iron. Still have the headache, a little nausea and feel like I haven't slept in days. WIll probably call it an early night.

On the other hand, being trapped here unable to walk, I sat down and started doing housekeeping for our Geekgirlz site (inspired by Leni) and realized that Chris had some of my awards to get up (with having a baby last year, Chris had no time and now that Em's one that hasn't changed much) Well my few missing awards turned out to be fifty-two awards that still need to go up (not to mention 11 awarded stories that aren't even on my site) Chris is going to come up here and break my other leg for me when I tell her this. I'm still blown away by the fact I have 52 awards that aren't up. Wonder how many I DO have up? (And this isn't counting the awards I just won and haven't received yet).

Oh and check this out and see if you can help my friend out.

Hi Folks;
My developmental psych class is reporting on the movie "The Breakfast Club". We were invited to suggest another movie of similar quality and theme. We are going to be asked to descibe the parental roles/rules/beleifs baed on the characters.
Any suggestions on another movie exploring the same theme of BC?

How about Ron Howard's Parenthood? (Or was it Parenting?)

Or the ones you're going to win this round at TPA, but I'm not telling you the exact number, except that you'll be getting another Black Rose Award.

Well very cool. Go me. I have some TPA ones that still need to go up. Not ones from last round. THey're up (well some of them) but some frmo the round before and some from the last. Sigh. I think Chris gets started then motherhood distracts her and it doesn't get done. But it will. Eventually.

Don't worry about me. I'm pretty hardy and my friend is just in the next house about 500 yards away (though i AM beginning to think I need to record the sounds the furnace makes so he can hear that something ain't right.)

feel better. I hope it isn't the flu, you don't need that on top of everything else.

You know, I'm feeling okay today but last night I ate that bakery bread from Wal-Mart and immediately started getting queasy. I thought about it and every time I got sick i had had a piece of bread. I'm wondering if I'm not allergic to an ingredient. I'm giving the rest of it to the wild animals.

I hope you're feeling better, it's no fun to be that sick on top of being injured. Take care of yourself and feel better soon.

thanks. I'm feeling better. I'm beginning to suspect something is either wrong with the bakery bread I bought or I'm allergic to it since there's now a pattern between consumption and illness

Oh dear, that sounds horrid. I hope it's only an allergy like you thought and not that you're getting sick, that's the last thing you need! TC of yourself!

And wow on the awards. That is one serious amount of them.

I'm feeling better today in spite of massive snow shoveling. Thanks

ANd yeah I'm stunned at the awards too. That probably means I have close to a 100 total.

If movies are still needed, I'd suggest, "Say Anything".

Other than that - what do we need to do to switch your luck around, woman?

Mom said to tell you that she's thrilled that I'm making bread again. Homemade pizza, including crust, too. I think they just want me here for my dough skills.

I didn't have the recipe book. I did think about making some loaves and mailing them out, though.

Lotus oil? *scratches head*

lotus oil. It's a book of candle magic. Now I'm sure I could get the myrrh incense but lotus oil?

I know there was a New Age shop that Zog took me (us?) to - ask him if you can get the # (if it's even still in business) and see if you can order it.

Or you might want to check...www.poto.com (I think that's right). They seem to have everything.

Hmm, yes, that's a problem here as well.

Full moon tonight, you know, and either Jupiter or Saturn (I can't remember which) is going to be triangulated with the moon and one of the stars in Castor/Pollux. Surely that should do something for a Gemini like yourself.

maybe I'll look up cunninghams' break a curse thing...I think it required black candles or a red candle and a cauldron. I do not have a cauldron.

Hmmm.

You probably don't have a pan that would substitute for a cauldron either, do you.

Zog might have a cauldron you could borrow.

maybe I can fashion one from snow. I think a bowl of water was allowable too.

Bowls are often good substitutions. I think that's why K likes pottery so much.
